Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
The overall difficulty level of the GATE 2026 Chemistry Paper was Moderate to Difficult.
A score of 25 marks in GATE is generally just enough to qualify for the exam (the general cut-off is often around 25-30), but it is not a good score for admissions to top IITs/NITs or PSUs, which typically require 40-70+ marks depending on the cutoff.
The top five most scoring chapters of chemistry (CY) are Organic Synthesis, Transition Elements, Quantum Chemistry, Spectroscopy, Chemical Kinetics, and Electrochemistry.
Six months is tight, but absolutely doable for a good rank.
