Have a question related to GATE ?

Congratulations on scoring 54.1 marks in GATE 2025 Civil Engineering! The qualifying cutoff for OBC candidates is usually around 25.4, so you've cleared the minimum requirement. However, for M.Tech in Structural Engineering at IITs, cutoffs are generally much higher. Admission to top IITs may be difficult with this score, but you can explore newer IITs, NITs, and reputed state universities in Andhra Pradesh. Keep an eye on cutoffs and consider institutes where your score aligns with admission trends.

Hello Vidushi,

Your eligibility and rank depend on the GATE 2024 Life Sciences (XL) cutoff , which varies yearly based on exam difficulty, number of candidates, and category .

  1. Qualifying Cutoff (Previous Years) :

    • General : Around 30-35 marks
    • OBC/EWS : Around 27-32 marks
    • SC/ST/PwD : Around 20-25 marks

  2. Your Situation :

    • If the official cutoff is below 38.34, you will qualify.

    • Your rank depends on overall performance, but with 38.34 marks, you might be in the 5,000–10,000 range (estimate).

  3. What Next?

    • If you qualify, you can apply for IIT/NIT M.Tech, PSU recruitment, or higher studies.

    • If you don’t qualify, consider re-attempting or exploring other career options like research, private jobs, or government exams.

Check the official cutoff and results on the GATE website once announced.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

With a GATE 2025 score of 644 in civil engineering, an OBC girl from Andhra Pradesh has a good chance of getting a seat in structural engineering. However, the cutoff scores for structural engineering programs vary across institutions and are often influenced by factors like the number of applicants and the seats available.

Considering the candidate's score and category, here are some possible institutions and programs to explore:

- NITs: With a score of 644, she may have a good chance of getting into NITs like NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy, or NIT Surathkal for their structural engineering programs.

- IITs: Although the cutoff scores for IITs are generally higher, she may still have a chance of getting into some IITs like IIT Guwahati, IIT Gandhinagar, or IIT Hyderabad for their structural engineering programs.

- State universities: She may also consider state universities like JNTU Hyderabad or Andhra University, which offer structural engineering programs.

To get a better idea of her chances, I recommend using online college predictors like Careers360's GATE College Predictor .This tool can help her estimate her chances of getting into specific institutions and programs based on her score and category.

With a GATE score of 419 and belonging to the SC category, getting admission to the IT branch at NITK Surathkal in 2025 might be challenging. The expected GATE cutoff for NITK Surathkal is around 600-700 for general category students, and for SC/ST/PwD, it's around 350-400.

However, since you belong to the SC category, your chances might be slightly better. The NITK Surathkal cutoff for SC/ST/PwD is typically lower than the general category cutoff.

To give you a better idea, here are some *GATE Cutoffs for NITK Surathkal*:

- Computer Science and Engineering: 765 (G1), 736 (G1)

- Information Technology: 708 (G1), 690 (G1)

Keep in mind that these cutoffs are subject to change and might not reflect the actual cutoffs for the 2025 admissions.

Considering your score and category, you might want to explore other branches or colleges that have lower cutoffs. I recommend checking the official NITK Surathkal website or contacting their admissions office for more information on the cutoffs and admission process.

Hello student,

In GATE, you should choose a subject based on:
