While preparing the results of WBJEE 2026, the authorities will use the WBJEE marking scheme. The marking scheme of WBJEE 2026 is mentioned in the exam brochure. Candidates can refer to the following table to understand the marking scheme of WBJEE 2026. Note that, there is no negative marking for Category 3.

WBJEE Result 2026 - Tie-Breaking Procedure

In case two or more candidates have secured the same marks in WBJEE result 2026 then the authorities will follow the tie-breaking procedure to allot ranks. The WBJEE tie-breaking procedure is given below.

• Candidates with less collective negative marks in PCM will be given a higher rank.
• If the tie is still unresolved, the candidates with more collective positive marks in PCM will be allotted a higher WBJEE rank.
• Otherwise, the candidates with more positive marks in Mathematics and Chemistry combined will be given a higher rank.
• If the tie persists, then the candidates with less negative marks in Mathematics and Physics taken together will be given a higher rank.
• Those candidates with less negative marks in Mathematics and Chemistry taken together will be allotted a higher rank, if the tie still exists.
• If the authorities are still not able to resolve the tie, then the candidates with more positive marks in Mathematics for only the 2 marks questions will be given a higher rank.
• If the tie still exists, then the candidates with more positive marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions will be allotted a higher rank.
• Candidates with more positive marks in Chemistry for only the 2 marks questions will be given a higher rank if the tie persists.
• If the tie is still ongoing, the candidates with less negative marks in Mathematics for only the 2-mark questions will be allotted a higher rank.
• If the tie persists, candidates with less negative marks in Physics for only the 2-mark questions will be given a higher rank.
• If the authorities are not able to break the tie, the candidates with less negative marks in Chemistry for only the 2-mark questions will be allotted a higher WBJEE rank.
• If all of the above criteria fail to break the tie, then the candidates will be allotted a higher rank based on age. Older candidates will be given a higher preference for admission.

WBJEE Results 2026 - Important Points to Remember

• WBJEE exam results will be released online.
• Candidates should download the WBJEE rank card 2026 and keep it safe for the future.
• Total marks and merit rank will be mentioned in the WBJEE result.
• Candidates have to pay the additional charges to download the WBJEE scorecard/ rank card if they fail to download it within specified dates.

WBJEE Merit List 2026

The authority releases the WBJEE 2026 merit list online. Candidates whose name appears in the WBJEE merit list 2026 have to participate in the counselling process. The merit list will be prepared on marks secured in the exam.

WBJEE General Merit List (GMR) will be released based on the candidate's scores obtained in all subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) of the entrance examination. Also, a separate merit list will be released for reserved category candidates such as SC Rank, ST Rank, OBC-A Rank, OBC-B Rank, PwD Rank, and TFW Rank. However, GMR will be applicable for all rounds of counselling and seat allotment.

WBJEE Cutoff 2026

WBJEEB will release the cutoff of WBJEE 2026 after each round of counselling in online mode. WBJEE cutoff will be available as opening and closing ranks within which the participating institutes will offer admission to the candidates. However, the cutoff will differ for various courses and institutes. Also, various factors like the number of candidates, availability of seats, difficulty of the exam, etc will be taken into consideration while preparing for the WBJEE cutoff.

WBJEE Result 2026: Availability of seats under the TFW Scheme

• The WBJEE Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFW) has been implemented by the Government of West Bengal for meritorious and economically backward students.
• The student must be domiciled in West Bengal and his/her total annual Family Income from all sources must be less than Rs. 2.50 lakhs (Rupees two lakhs and fifty thousand only)
• The waiver is limited to the Tuition Fee only. All other fees will have to be paid by the student.
