CENTAC 2018:
The online registrations for admissions through CENTAC 2018 will be open tentatively from the third week of May 2018. The candidates who wish to pursue their studies in the participating institutes of CENTAC 2018 will have to fill the application form with valid information and submit it. The submission of the application form has to be done in both online and offline mode along with other required documents. CENTAC 2018 admissions will be done based on the 12th standard (or equivalent) examination scores for Puducherry and Tamil Nadu candidates and JEE Main 2018 scores for other state candidates. Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC) will prepare the merit list by using a normalization procedure. The shortlisted candidates will have to pay the counselling fee online and submit their preferred options. The allotted candidates will have to report at their institute to confirm their admission. There are 17 participating institutes under CENTAC 2018. Centralized Admission Committee will be the conducting authority for the entire admission process. CENTAC 2018 Eligibility Criteria

 

The candidates who wish to get B.Tech admission through CENTAC 2018 will have to fulfil certain conditions and requirements to be eligible. The following eligibility criteria of CENTAC 2018 will have to be met by the candidates to participate in the admission procedure.

 

Eligibility Criteria of CENTAC 2018

 

Nationality: The candidates have to be of Indian nationality. However, French nationals residing in the UT of Puducherry and covered by the terms of the Treaty of Cession will also be eligible to participate in CENTAC 2018.

 

Age: All candidates should be maximum 21 years old as on July 1, 2018. Relaxation of 3 years will be given to SC candidates.

 

Educational Qualification: For CENTAC 2018 admissions, the candidates should have qualified H.Sc (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination. An aggregate of minimum 45% marks (40% marks for OBC/ BCM/ MBC/ EBC/ BT/ SC candidates) should have been secured in Mathematics, Physics or any one of the following optional subjects: Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/ Biology (Botany and Zoology).

 

Selection Criteria: Candidates belonging to the Union Territory of Puducherry will be allotted seats based on their performance in 12th standard (or equivalent) examination. CENTAC 2018 admissions to the candidates from other states and Union Territories will be done based on their JEE Main 2018 scores.

 

Attempts at Qualifying Examination: The candidates can appear for the qualifying examination maximum two times. Scheduled Caste category candidates will be allowed to appear for the qualifying examination maximum three times.

 

CENTAC 2018 Reservation Criteria

 

There are certain percentage of seats reserved for candidates belonging to a particular category. CENTAC 2018 reservation criteria provides vertical and horizontal reservation to many categories.

CENTAC 2018 Application Form 

 

The online application form of CENTAC 2018 will be available for all eligible candidates tentatively from the third week of May 2018. It is important for all candidates to fill and submit the application form successfully to participate in the admission process. Valid information will have to be provided by the candidates. The filled CENTAC 2018 application form also has to be submitted in offline mode. The given steps can be followed by the candidates to fill the online application form of CENTAC 2018.

Step 1 – Registration: Firstly, the candidates will have to register themselves by submitting their name, date of birth, email id and mobile number. A password also has to be created by the candidates for future login. The link to activate the created account will be sent to the registered email id of the candidates.

 

Step 2 - Payment of Application Fees: After successfully registering themselves, the candidates will have to pay the required application fees. The payment has to be done using online method i.e., credit card/ debit card or net banking.

Step 3 - Filling of Application Form: The candidates will have to fill the application form of CENTAC 2018 with the required information. Details related to the personal, academic and contact information about the candidates will have to be submitted. All information should be corresponding to the documents possessed by the candidates.

 

Step 4 – Uploading of Scanned Images: The candidates will have to scan their recent colour photograph and upload it. The scanned photograph should be in JPG format and between 20 KB to 25 KB.

 

Step 5 – Submission of Online Application Form: After rechecking all of the details submitted, the candidates will have to submit the filled CENTAC 2018 application form before the final date.

 

Step 6 – Offline Submission of Filled Application Form Printout: The printout of the filled application form along with some other self-attested documents will have to be submitted to the CENTAC office. The candidates will also have to sign at the required place in the print out of the CENTAC 2018 application form. The following documents will have to be submitted along with the application form. The application number has to be mentioned on the top right hand side of all the certificates.

  • Filled in Proforma along with attested copies of Sports Certificate (if applicable)

CENTAC 2018 Cutoff

 

The cutoff of CENTAC 2018, which is the minimum score that has to be obtained for admissions, will be prepared by the concerned authorities. Separate cutoff lists will be determined for candidates belonging to the reserved categories (General, SC, ST, OBC). The candidates will have to note that the cutoff will be different for each category and course selected. While preparing the CENTAC 2018, a number of factors will be considered by the candidates. Those candidates who meet the cutoff of CENTAC 2018 will likely be more eligible for admission. 

 

CENTAC 2018 Merit List

 

The admission authorities will release the official merit list of CENTAC 2018 tentatively in the month of June 2018. The merit list of CENTAC 2018 will consist of those candidates who have been selected for the counselling and seat allotment process. Separate merit lists will be prepared for different categories and engineering departments. For the candidates who are from outside Gujarat, the merit list will be determined based on their JEE Main scores. The scores of 12th standard will be normalized for the candidates belonging to Puducherry and a merit list will be prepared. The counselling letter has to be downloaded by the candidates which provide them with their allotted counselling venue and timing.

 

CENTAC 2018 Counselling

 

The selected candidates will have to download and print out their counselling letter. The venue and timings for the counselling of CENTAC 2018 will be present in the downloaded counselling venue. The same information will also be sent to the candidates through SMS and email. The candidates will be called in for CENTAC 2018 counselling according to their ranking in the merit list. Firstly, the candidates will have to pay the counselling fees of Rs. 750 (Rs. 350 for SC/BT category) through online mode (credit card/debit card/NEFT). After payment of counselling fees, the candidates will have to enter their choices of college and course for admission. Allotment of seats will be done on the basis of the ranking of the candidates and his/her selected options. The candidates will have to download their provisional allotment order and report at the allotted institute to confirm their admission. Failure to do so will lead to the cancellation of their allotment.
