CENTAC Cutoff 2020

The exam conducting authority will release CENTAC 2020 cutoff within the merit list. CENTAC cutoff is the minimum normalised marks which every applicant need to score in order to be considered for admission. The normalised marks is calculated from Physics, Mathematics and one optional subject in which candidate has appeared which may include Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Technical Vocational Subjects etc. Students who will secure the marks more than or equal to CENTAC cutoff 2020 will be included in the merit list.

CENTAC Normalisation Procedure

In order to evolve a common base for equating the marks obtained by the candidates from various Boards of Examination, “normalization procedure” is followed. The marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by the various boards will be equated with the marks obtained by the students in the same subjects in the qualifying examination, conducted by the State Board (i.e. state Board of School Examinations, Tamil Nadu), by adopting the method of normalization.

For Example - If the highest marks secured by a student of the State Board, in Physics is 100 and the highest mark secured by a student of any other Board (say “X”), in the same subject is 90, then, both the highest marks will be considered to be equal to 100. If any other student of the other Board (i.e “X”), is 90, then, 60 marks secured by such a student will be considered to be equal to 66.667 marks as arrived at and given bellow: (100 x60) / 90 = 66.667% After normalization of marks of the eligible students of different Boards, in the relevant subjects, the “normalized marks” obtained shall be merged into a common merit list

CENTAC Counselling 2020

The CENTAC will conduct online counselling for all candidates who will be eligible for seat allotment on the basis of merit list. Students whose name will appear in merit list will be required to fill choices of their college and branch and pay the counselling fees in online mode. The authority will conduct counselling through a centralised process in which seats will be allotted to candidates in order of merit considering the various parameters like category, marks in merit list etc. Students who will be allotted seats will be required to report to the allotted institute for completing the remaining admission procedure. Students can check below the last year allotment list to check cutoff of allotment.

What makes Pondicherry Engineering College to stand in place of nirf ranking with NITS????

sagar tatipamula 30th Jul, 2019
Dear student ,
Nirf ranking is totally based on
Infrastructure
Faculty
Facilities they provide
And
Last but not least
Fees structure.

Pondicherry college of engineering has Low fees structure than NITs and the placement that you get is exactly same as NIT.

But it's all the matter of Return on Investment.

shivangi yadav 29th Jul, 2019

 Hey

Major factor which should be kept in mind to join any course  in any of the college is placement.average salary would be 2 lakh per annum .highest would be around 3.05 or 4 lakh per annum. since you got ECE you can expect companies with 5-8 LPA. so i would suggest to go for Pondicherry Engineering College .

Is GATE or CAT coaching given in Pondicherry Engineering College? ??

satyam saran 29th Jul, 2019

No, such coaching classes do not exist inside the college. General engineering curriculum is only followed. You need to prepare on your own for various exams like GATE or CAT. You can also join classes in the city if you require. Its better to prepare with other students as it develops a competition environment.
