GATE 2026 Counselling Date: IIT Roorkee will announce the GATE Counselling 2026 schedule on the official website. The GATE 2026 counselling will be conducted in May 2026. Candidates can valid their GATE 2026 score for counselling. The COAP is responsible for the admission process to M.Tech courses offered by IITs. The CMMT is responsible for admission to M.Tech programmes offered by IIITs, NIT and GFTIs and CFTIs. The counselling dates for GATE 2026 results will be announced later. There will be 10 rounds of counselling and 3 phases of CCMT counselling depending on the results. The GATE 2026 counselling process will consist of registration, filling of choices, seat allotment, and reporting to the institute.

A candidate to be eligible for M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. programme:
Must have a valid GATE score of the year 2024 / 2025 / 2026.
In qualifying degree, the candidates should have passed and secured at least 6.5 CGPA (on a 10- point scale) or 60% for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC, whereas 6.0 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 55% in case of SC/ST/PwD candidates.
To register for COAP 2026, candidates must have their name, GATE registration number(s), valid GATE score(s), date of birth, email address, and mobile number.
Only those who have qualified in GATE 2025, 2024, or 2023 and wish to apply for M.Tech. admission or PSU job offers through participating institutes are eligible to register at COAP 2026. After successful registration, candidates can view offers from these institutes, which will be linked to their COAP registration number.
Registration is deemed successful only when a candidate completes the log-in procedure using the details sent via email and SMS. The email contains a URL along with the login ID, and the SMS contains the password.
Candidates should enter all valid GATE scores (GATE 2026, GATE 2025, GATE 2024) while filling out the application. If no additional GATE scores exist, clicking the SUBMIT button completes the registration process.
The application process for COAP 2026 is finalized only after clicking the SUBMIT button during the first login to the candidate’s account.

There are 15 rounds for GATE counselling 2026. The COAP for IITs 5 main rounds + 5 additional rounds and CMMT for NITs 3 rounds + 2 special rounds.
Candidates who have qualified in the GATE by securing minimum qualifying marks are eligible to participate in the counselling process.
No, there is no single common counselling process for GATE admission. The counselling is conducted through COAP and CMMT for the GATE 2026 admission process.

Yes, you can get a seat in VLSI. However, different colleges have different cut-off scores. Check the respective college GATE cut off before applying.
Every PSU has different cut-off marks and eligibility. Hence, it is suggested to apply for PSU after checking the eligibility. Also, they do not reveal the marks of the finally selected candidates. So, wait for the final merit list.
