WBJEE 2026 Merit List – Category Wis

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board will make a category-wise merit list for the WBJEE 2026 as per the marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance test. Merit Ranks will be allocated separately for various categories like General, SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD and TFW. The candidates will check their category rank on the official rank card which will be released online. The merit list will be of great significance during the counselling and seat allotment process. WBJEE 2026 Ranking Methodology and Merit Lists

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board prepares merit ranks based on candidates’ scores in the entrance examination. Students can download their rank cards online, which contain their scores and ranks. To maintain confidentiality, WBJEEB does not release any public rank list. Two separate merit ranks are prepared based on the subjects attempted and marks obtained by candidates.

    General Merit Rank (GMR)

    • A sequence of General Merit Ranks (GMR) will be prepared based on the total scores obtained in Paper I and Paper II, taken together.

    • Ranking shall be done in descending order of total marks scored in all the subjects. In the event of a tie, the tie-breaking rules in 2.9.1 shall apply.

    • Separate reserved category merit positions will also be indicated for the respective category of students, e.g., SC Rank, ST Rank, OBC-A Rank, OBC-B Rank, EWS Rank, PwD Rank, TFW Rank, etc., as applicable.

    • Admission to all Engineering / Technology / Architecture Courses and the Pharmacy Course at Jadavpur University will be based only on GMR.

    • Sequencing orders for counselling/allotment of seats/admission will be based only on GMR (not category ranks). Category ranks will appear only in the rank card to indicate the category-wise position of the respective candidate.

    Category ranks

All the information given by the candidate in the category part of the online application is checked by the institute as per the allocated category in the counselling process.
