The authority will release the JEE Main notification 2026 eligibility criteria on the official website, jee main.nta.nic.in. All those who have cleared the class 12th / equivalent in 2024/ 2025 or are taking the exam in 2026 will be able to appear in the exam without any age linit. JEE Main 2026 Notification Application Form

The authority has released a notification for JEE Main 2026 application form, stating that the process will commence in October. The authority will activate the NTA JEE Mains 2026 registration link on the official website. jee.main.nic.in. Candidates will have to check the eligibility criteria before the submission for the JEE Main 2026 examination. The authority will announce the actual JEE Main Session 1 registration date soon.

How to apply the JEE Mains 2026 registration for session 1?

To apply for the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination, candidates will have to follow these steps:

  • Visit the official JEE Main website at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

  • On the homepage, click on the link for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 registration.

  • A new page will open, where candidates will need to register by providing the required details.

  • After successful registration, log in to your account.

  • Complete the application form and pay the application fee.

  • Click on "Submit" and download the application page for your records.

  • Keep a hard copy of the application form for future reference.

Documents Required For JEE Mains 2026

Candidates will have to provide the following mandatory details when filling out the JEE Main 2026 application form.

  • A valid email address and mobile number for receiving messages from NTA.

  • Only the Class 10 certificate needs to be uploaded; both Class 10 and Class 12 certificates are required for reference, but not for uploading.

  • Aadhaar card with updated details.

  • A clear scanned copy of a recent photograph and signature.

  • Updated OBC-NCL/EWS candidates must provide the certificate's category number, issue date, and the issuing authority's name (uploading the certificate is not necessary).

  • PwD/PwBD candidates must upload a scanned copy of the relevant certificate updated with recent information.

  • Prepare details for fee payment through net banking, credit card, debit card, or UPI.

JEE Main 2026 Notification Exam Pattern

NTA will issue the JEE Main 2026 exam pattern notification on the official website. According to the revised pattern of the previous year, Section B of each subject will no longer offer choices; candidates must attempt all 5 number questions. A selection A contains 20 multiple choice questions (MCQs) per subject, and Section B includes 10 number questions, with all 5 being compulsory. The JEE Main 2026 question paper will consist of three subjects: physics, chemistry and mathematics, with 25 questions per subject, totalling 75 questions.

i gave my 12th boards in 2025 feb, in which i got a compartment in result. i had an option to reappear in all subjects, I'll be reappearing in 12th boards 26, so how many jee adv attempts do i have and will there be any issues in registration of mains and advance as i will pass my12th in may 2026?

Hello

Since you’re reappearing for your Class 12 boards in 2026, that will be counted as your official passing year. So, you will be eligible to write JEE Advanced in 2026 and 2027. Although you submitted the boards in 2025, that attempt won’t be considered due to the compartment. JEE Advanced rules allow 2 attempts in 2 consecutive years after passing 12th. So you still have both chances left, which is great! Just make sure you meet the other eligibility conditions too. Keep your focus strong, you’ve got this!

Preparing books for learning JEE main

Hello aspirant,

Start with NCERT in every subject for JEE Main.  For physics, use H.C. Verma and D.C. Pandey; for chemistry, use R.C. Mukherjee and O.P. Tandon; and for mathematics, use R.D. Sharma or Cengage.  J.D. Lee assists with inorganic chemistry, while Morrison & Boyd assists with organic chemistry.  Practice chapter-by-chapter Arihant or MTG past year's papers.  For efficient preparation, concentrate on clear concepts, frequent revision, and passing practice exams.

Is income certificate required during registration of jee mains of current year??

Hello,

Generally an income certificate isn't required for the JEE Main registration, but if you want to claim the EWS quota, then you need this. You must provide the certificate, issued by a government authority, as proof of your family's income being below the specified limit for the reservation category you wish to apply under.
