Is 75% criteria removed from JEE Main 2026 - The National Testing Agency will release the JEE Main 2026 eligibility criteria on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. According to the previous brochure, the authority has not removed the 75% criteria from JEE Main. Students who secure a minimum of 75% marks in the 10+2 exams or are in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards for admission into NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates must note that the 75% criteria are limited for admission purposes at NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. The JEE Main 75% criteria must not be confused with the JEE Mains eligibility criteria. The authority will conduct the JEE Mains 2026 exam in two sessions. The JEE Main 2026 session 1 will be held between January 21 to 30, 2026.

General category students who seek admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs based on the JEE Main ranks must secure a minimum of 75% in their qualifying examinations or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards.

If you want a rank under 20,000 under OBC-NCL for jee 2026, you should target for 97-97.5%, which is around 140-160 marks out of 300. And for under 10,000 you will need around 98.5-99% which is around 170-190 marks. But these scores can vary each year. So, if you aim for marks above 180, you will be in a strong position for some of the best NITs and IITs.
