Is a Virtual Calculator Allowed in JEE Main 2026? : The National Testing has removed the virtual calculator for JEE Main 2026. As per revised notified, the virtual calculator will not be allowed in the JEE Mains 2026 exam, as the use of a calculator in any form is strictly prohibited. During the computer-based Test (CBT), an on-screen standard calculator will not be available throughout the JEE Main 2026 exam. Therefore, candidates must focus on strengthening their problem-solving skills and memorizing important formulas so that can easily resolve all types of questions without relying on a virtual calculator. NTA doesn’t allow any form of calculator in the JEE Main exam to maintain the standard of the test and check the problem-solving skills of the student. The authority wants to ensure that all the JEE Main participants get a fair chance to showcase their mental ability without relying on any advanced calculators. The JEE Main exam is conducted to check the candidates' understanding and problem-solving skills, not just their ability to do quick calculations.
NTA has announced rules and regulations to be followed by the candidates on the exam day. The rules are available in the JEE brochure. Follow the important Instructions for the candidates.
On the day of the exam, candidates must reach the exam centre before the time, i.e. 02 hours before the commencement of the Examination.
Candidates must carry the printed Admit Card and authorised Photo IDs
PwD/PwBD candidates must carry their disability certificate if claiming relaxations.
Changing of seats is prohibited; candidates must sit on the assigned seat as per their roll number.
Carry a simple transparent Ball Point to use for the exam.
Candidates are not allowed to carry Instruments, Geometry or Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, any kind of Paper/ Stationery/ Textual material (printed or written material), Eatables and Water (loose or packed), Mobile Phone/ Earphone/ Microphone/ Pager, Calculator, DocuPen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder, Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices in the Examination Centre/ Hall/Room.
Candidates who are unable to appear on the scheduled date/shift and pre-intimated time of the test for any reason won't be allowed any re-test.
Candidates must keep both the hard and soft copies of the ‘Confirmation Page’, Admit Card, and Scorecard of the JEE (Main) 2026, as these will not be available after 31 July 2026.
During the exam, candidates must carry a list of mandatory documents as mentioned in the brochure. Without the documents, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the examination.
