IIT Rule of Changing Branch - Oftentimes, students secure admission in their dream IIT but not in their preferred branch. And in some cases, there is a possibility that during their study, students develop an inclination to a different branch. Other factors like course curriculum, exposure to other branches or growing job opportunities in a stream might contribute to IIT branch change. Keeping in mind all these valid reasons, the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) have set aside certain rules and regulations for branch change. For any student enrolled in IIT and looking for a branch change, they must qualify for the eligibility requirements as laid down by the institute. However, it is important to note that the branch change options are only offered in a few IITs.
