To download the GATE scorecard, an enrolment id and password are required. How are GATE 2026 Marks Calculated?

After the evaluation of the answers, the actual (raw) marks obtained by a candidate will be considered for computing the GATE 2026 score. For multi-session papers (subjects), raw marks obtained by the candidates in different sessions will be converted to normalised marks for that particular subject. Thus, raw marks (for single-session papers) or normalised marks (for multi-session papers) will be used for computing the GATE score 2026, based on the qualifying marks.

Normalized Process of GATE Exam Result 2026

As authorities conduct the GATE exam in multiple sessions, the same normalisation process will be used to take into account any variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers across different sessions. Authorities will normalise the marks based on the fundamental assumption that "in all multi-session GATE 2026 papers, the distribution of abilities of candidates is the same across all the sessions".

This assumption is justified since the number of candidates appearing in multi-session papers in GATE 2026 is large and the procedure for the allocation of sessions to candidates is random.
