IIT Bombay M.Tech Admission 2018 - The authorities of IIT Bombay have released the last score of GATE on which candidates have been admitted. Candidates can chek the list below. The list of selected candidates on the basis of written test or interview for different categories was released earlier. Candidates can check the lists from the links given in the article below. COAP offer letter. Candidates need to confirm their M.Tech admission and make a decision on or before May 27, 2018. The application form of IIT Bombay M.Tech admission 2018 is over now. It was available from March 20 till April 12 in online mode. The IIT Bombay M.Tech admission 2018 will be offered by around 16 departments which are listed in this article. GATE qualified candidates could apply for the IIT Bombay M.Tech admission 2018. Candidates with high GATE scores could apply for direct admissions while others could appear for a written test and interview to avail the IIT Bombay M.Tech 2018 admissions. Shortlisted candidates can check their admission offers through COAP also known as the Common Offer Admission Portal which is the common platform for all applicants who have applied to the IITs M.Tech admission only. The GATE 2018 application form was available from August 31, 2017 and the last date for registration was October 9, 2017 (8 pm). The GATE 2018 exam was conducted IIT Guwahati  by in an online mode on February 3 & 4, 2017 and February 10 & 11, 2017. The  GATE 2018 result has been declared on March 17, 2017.

IIT Bombay M.Tech Eligibility Criteria 2018

 

Candidates need to meet certain academic and other parameters to be able to apply for admission in the M.Tech programmes which are being offered at IIT Bombay.

 

Academic Qualifications

  • Candidates belonging to the general category will have to score at least 60% marks in their B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Sc. (Engineering)/ M.Sc./ M.C.A./ MBBS/ M.Pharm./ B.Pharm.(4 yr. Degree)/ BDS (4 yr. Degree), while those belonging to Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe will have to score at least 55% marks.

  • Candidates who have passed the Associate Membership Examination which is conducted by recognized professional bodies are also eligible to apply. The list of such bodies is:

    1. Institute of Chemical Engineers

    2. Institution of Engineers

    3. Aeronautical Society of India

    4. Institute of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers

    5. Indian Institutes of Metals

 

 Eligibility criteria for IIT B.Tech Degree holders

  • Candidates who have completed their B.Tech from any IIT with a CGPA or CGPI of 8:00 (on a scale of 0-10) are exempted from the GATE qualifying criterion. Such candidates will have to appear for a written test and interview.

IIT Bombay M.Tech Application Form 2018

 

The application form of IIT Bombay M.Tech 2018 admission was available from March 20 onwards. The application process was online and candidates were required to upload the specified documents along with the same.

Steps to fill the application form of IIT Bombay M.Tech Admission 2018

 

The following steps had to be followed while filling the IIT Bombay M.Tech 2018 application form:

 

Step 1: Registration – Candidates must enter the following details

  • Birth category

  • Eligibility criterion

  • Qualifying percentage

  • GATE Registration number (only digits only for eg. Enter only 12345678, if your GATE Registration number is "CS12345678"). – this is only for GATE candidates

  • Email ID

After submission of the above details, "a secret key", "login id" and all other details related to the application will be sent on the registered Email ID.

 

Step 2: Logging in

  • Applicants who have valid GATE Score must enter the digits of their GATE registration No

  • Non GATE applicants must enter the User-id sent via Email and the secret Key as password.

Step 3: Fill the Application Form for IIT Bombay M.Tech Admission 2018

  • The first and second page of the application form should be filled with the relevant personal details and preferences of the Applicant.

  • Candidates must fill the Statement of Purpose (SOP) if they have applied for any of the specializations of Aerospace Engineering AE) or Technology & Development - (TD

  • Candidates who have applied for the specializations of Electrical Engineering (EE), Chemical Engineering (CH) or Biomedical Engineering(BM), need to fill up the Final Year Project and some other information.

Step 4: Save and Continue -  Candidates must click on this to proceed to payment of the application fee and uploading of the photograph.

Step 5: Upload Documents – The list is given above. Candidates must upload the specified images and documents.

Step 6: Online Payment - Applicants can pay application form fees through Debit card/ Credit card/ SBI or Canara Internet Banking. Candidates who are paying via a DD must send the same along with the completed copy of the application to IIT Bombay

Step 7: Final Submission - Candidates must check and ensure all details are correct before clicking on this option.

Step 8: View/ Print Application - Candidates must use this option to print a hard copy of the submitted application for their reference.

 

Corrections in Application: Candidates can use the "UnFreeze Application” option to make any changes. They must submit it finally after making all the needed changes.

All the candidates who will be appearing in the written test or the interview need to bring with them the following documents:

  • Hard copy of the application form submitted online

  • Photo Id Card

  • Copy of certificates / Marksheets.

Note: Candidates will have to submit self-attested copy of their qualifying degree certificate, final transcripts by last week of July, 2018. 

 

IIT Bombay M.Tech Result 2018

 

The result of the IIT Bombay M.Tech 2018 will be declared tentatively in June 2018. With the help of the result, candidates will get to know the marks scored by them in the written test and interview if they have appeared for the same.

 

IIT Bombay M.Tech Cutoff 2018

 

The minimum marks, which the candidates are required to score to be eligible to apply for admission in different M.Tech programmes is referred to as the IIT Bombay M.Tech cutoff. The cutoffs vary for the courses as well as category of students.

 

GATE COAP 2018

After applying for the IIT Bombay M.Tech admission 2018, candidates will also need to register at the GATE Common Acceptance Portal known as GATE COAP. This is the offer portal for all GATE qualifiers who have applied to the IITs. They need to register at the GATE COAP, check the admission offered to them by the IITs where they have applied and accept the most preferred one. Further they will have to report to the IIT whose offer letter they have accepted and pay the admission fees and complete the formalities.
