Eligibility Criteria for GAIL Recruitment through GATE 2020
Know your expected Score
Only Indian nationals can apply
Candidates should have passed full-time B.Tech/ BE/Bsc Engg or equivalent degree from a AICTE/UGC recognized institution.
Candidates must have studied full time courses starting from the Class X stage till graduation or Post graduaton
Engineering Degree can be B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. Engg
Integrated ME/ M.Tech candidates: Candidates having 5 years B.E / B. Tech. + M.E / M. Tech. integrated dual degree in engineering in a relevant discipline can also apply
Minimum Pass Percentage
General and OBC (NCL) category: Minimum 65% marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam
SC/ST/PwD category: Minimum 60% marks in aggregate
Final year students
At the time of filling application form candidates must have obtained the specified % till the last semester.
General & OBC-NCL category students must have secured minimum 65% Marks in aggregate
SC/ST/PWD candidates must have secured minimum 60% marks in aggregate
However, such candidates must submit their final mark sheet tentatively by 31st August, 2020 and should meet the prescribed eligibility criteria
Age Limit (As on March 3, 2020)
Maximum upper age limit is 56 years (including all
possible age relaxations)
General Category candidates: Must not be more than 28 years
OBC-NCL candidates: Upper age limit is 31 years
SC/ST candidates: Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years
Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)- Upper Age limit is relaxable by 10 years
Candidates domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during January 1, 1980 to December 31, 1989 can avail relaxation up to 5 years
Ex-servicemen – Relaxation will be as per guidelines
No Objection Certificate (NOC)
Candidates employed in Government/ Semi-Government/ Central / State Government Departments / PSUs should produce ‘NOC’ from their employer at the time of Interview

How to Apply for GAIL Recruitment through GATE 2020
The application process for GAIL recruitment is online and available now.
To apply, candidates must choose the relevant post
Candidates will have to enter the name of the post applied for, email ID and date of birth.
Candidates will also be required to enter their GATE registration number as mentioned in their GATE 2020 admit card.
Upon successful submission of the application form, a unique GAIL application number will be generated to be noted down by candidates for their reference.
Candidates should also download and keep printout of GAIL application as it might be required for future reference. They are required to affix a photograph (identical to the one used in GATE 2020) on the application.

Selection Process of GAIL Recruitment through GATE 2020:
Shortlisting will be on the basis of their GATE 2020 scores.
They may further have to appear in a group discussion (GD)/interview for which they will be sent call letters.
Post GD/interview, a medical fitness test might also be conducted. Candidates who pass the medical test would be issued job offers.

Candidates will be retained in same Pay Scale on successful completion of training-cum-probation
Training-cum-probation: Candidates who get selected as E-2 grade executive trainee have to undergo one year of training-cum-probation. On successful completion of the one-year period, candidates will be absorbed in the same pay scale in E-2 grade.
During and post training-cum-probation, candidates may be posted at any of the installations, projects or offices of GAIL(India) Ltd. or its subsidiaries/joint ventures.

While GAIL recruits candidates who have qualified GATE, there is a minimum cutoff that the candidates need to meet. GATE 2020 cutoff will be used to shortlist candidates; candidates who don’t score the cutoff will not be considered for admission. In the first place, you need not apply your EWS certificate while filling the GATE 2020 application as cutoff for GATE 2020 for General and General-EWS is SAME. (There is no relaxation in cutoff or fee).
Moreover, if you don't have a valid EWS Certificate during admission, you will be considered as a General Category Candidate. (This actually means, it won't make any difference in your admission).
But GATE has nothing to do with subsequent process of admission. Therefore, it is advisable to use your certificate to avail any provisions offered exclusively by University.
IITs have fee waiver like relaxations for candidates with EWS certificate.
