GATE Application Form Correction 2026 - IIT Guwahati has closed the GATE 2026 form correction on November 18, 2025. Candidates were able to edit qualifying degree information in the GATE application form. However, the option to add a second paper had not been provided this year. Note that incorrect or mismatched details can lead to rejection of the application. The authority will conduct the GATE exam in online mode. The GATE 2026 exam is scheduled for February 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2026. Candidates who have successfuly submitted their application forms will be able to download the GATE admit card from the official website.

Candidates have completed the GATE 2026 application form correction facility online. The GATE application form correction link for 2026 was updated on the official website, gate2026.iitr.ac.in. The GATE 2026 edit option was reopened on November 18, 2025. Candidates must complete the GATE application correction process before the final date.

After the GATE 2026 application form is submitted, the authorities examine the same to verify the authenticity of the given details. In case of any mistakes or discrepancies, the candidates are contacted by the zonal authorities through their registered contact details i.e., email address or mobile number. The status of the GATE application form can also be checked by logging into the GOAPS website. Rectification of the details was done by the candidates before the final date.
Forget Enrollment ID:
Candidates will have to use their registered email id and valid password to know the enrollment ID.
The enrollment number will be sent to the candidates through SMS.
Forget Password:
In case the password is forgotten, the candidates can use their enrollment number and email address to receive the password.
Click the ‘request OTP’ option to get the OTP via SMS or Email. Now they can reset their password by using the OTP.
Forget Enrollment ID & Password:
Case-1: If the candidate has paid the application fee, then they have to contact the zonal office.
Case-2: If fee payment has not been paid, the candidates can register again.
Candidates who wish to rectify the changes in the application form had to pay the GATE application form correction fees. The rectification of the application can be done through the GATE correction window. While making changes to the GATE application form, candidates will have the option to change the GATE centre. Candidates could make their preference of any three GATE exam centres. However, the preference for the exam centre should be from the same zone. Candidates can refer to the GATE exam centre list to know the centre's name, zone-wise.

You will not receive another rectification mail unless and until there is still an error in your reuploaded signature. if everything is okay your status will change to accepted on the GATE portal.

This is likely a temporary portal or validation issue, not something you did wrong. When candidates try to change category from GEN to OBC-NCL during the GATE correction window, the system checks required fields and sometimes a supporting certificate or fee is needed. If any required data or document is missing, or the server is busy, the portal can show Something went wrong, please try again. Explain to them that first they should log into the GATE portal, open the Correction tab and confirm which fields are editable and whether a payment or document upload is required for category change. Tell them to clear browser cache or try a different browser/device and retry. If the error persists, advise contacting GATE support or the zonal office with a screenshot and timing of the error so officials can check server logs.

The GATE 2026 Agricultural Engineering (AG) paper will have a total of 100 marks. Out of this, 15 marks are for General Aptitude and 85 marks are for core Agricultural Engineering subjects.
The marks are generally distributed among major topics like Engineering Mathematics (12–13 marks), Farm Machinery (10–11), Farm Power (14–15), Soil & Water Conservation (12–13), Irrigation & Drainage (10–12), Agricultural Process Engineering (10–12), and Dairy & Food Engineering (9–10 marks).
The official qualifying marks for GATE 2026 are not yet released. However, based on previous years, the cutoff for the Agricultural Engineering paper is expected to be around 25 marks for General, 22.5 for OBC/EWS, and 16.6 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
