Careers360: Tell us something about yourself, such as where you are from.
Heeya: My name is Heeya, pursuing B.Tech (Honours) in ICT with Minor in CS, in my second year. I am from Ahmedabad.
Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?
A: No, I did not face any difficulty in the initial months when I joined the institute.
Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs, etc., for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?
A: There are many clubs and committees; we have a student council, too. I am part of the press club and DSW.
Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?
A: Wake up at 8:30 for lectures, lectures end at 12:00, lunch, then afternoon session which includes labs and tutorials, mostly it ends at 5:00-6:00. In the evenings, we spend time at OAT or LP or playing badminton at SAC. Dinner around 8, and then the night culture of college is beautiful, where you can find students in groups till 3-4 am.
Careers360: What facilities do you have on campus? What do you like here the most, which you feel is unique and differentiating?
A: library, computer lab, sports activities, cafeteria, OAT, LP. The greenery of the campus is very peaceful, and we have various species of birds. The whole campus is for students only, so there is no such restricted area (no shops). So we can access it any time to hang out.
Careers360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?
A: There is a doctor's cabin on campus, we can take their help when needed, but not for more serious health issues.
Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?
A: Use of time between lectures and labs for study purposes and following a fixed routine helps me to manage all things. So I also find time to involve myself in club activities and all.
Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant they are from your point of view or students' point of view?
A: They are a very important part of student culture in college. They host fun events and festivals for enjoyment, learning and exploring new things.
Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?
A: Most students go for lunch and dinner at nearby restaurants and hotels. There are also some gardens nearby, and some students go to Ahmedabad at weekends.
Careers360: How do you spend your leisure time on campus?
A: I listen to songs and do some programming stuff
Careers360: What type of companies come for campus recruitment, and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the recruitment process here?
A: Some of the top MNCs, Fintech, Tech Startups and more companies come here for recruitment. Typically, 80 to 90 % student get placed every year. The recruitment process is very structured and clear; all policies are provided, and there is also a Student Placement Cell committee of student representatives to coordinate the recruitment process and other related processes.
