    In this interview, Harshil Patel, who is a second-year BTech (Honours) in ICT with Minor CS student, is talking about his campus life journey at Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, with Careers360.     Careers 360: Tell us something about yourself, such as where you are from.

    Harshil Patel: I'm Harshil Patel, a second-year BTech (Honours) in ICT with Minor CS student from Ahmedabad.

    Careers 360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?

    A: Not specifically.

    Careers 360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs, etc., for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?

    Harshil Patel: There are many clubs like programming, dance, music, theatre, photography, etc. I'm a part of the core committee of the photography club.

    Careers 360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?

    Harshil Patel: Wake up around 8:00 AM, classes from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, lunch, afternoon session from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (Labs/Tutorials), leisure/sports till 7:00 PM, dinner, self-study/project work, sleep around 1:00 AM.

    Careers 360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.

    Harshil Patel: The ratio is quite decent, allowing for personalised interaction. Teachers are approachable and helpful, often guiding students in projects and research beyond the curriculum.

    Careers 360: What facilities do you have on campus? What do you like here the most, which you feel is unique and differentiating?

    Harshil Patel: We have advanced labs, a vast library, diverse sports facilities, and a student activity center. The night culture and the freedom on campus are truly unique.

    Careers 360: How comfortable are your hostels, and how about the cleanliness factor over there?

    Harshil Patel: Hostels are comfortable with basic amenities. Cleanliness is well-maintained with regular housekeeping.

    Careers 360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?

    Harshil Patel: Yes, there's a 24/7 medical center with doctors and an ambulance available for emergencies.

    Careers 360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?

    Harshil Patel: Time management is key. I prioritise tasks based on deadlines and allocate specific time slots for extracurricular activities and relaxation.

    Careers 360: Tell us about the clubs and societies on campus and how significant they are from your point of view or the students' point of view?

    Harshil Patel: They are very significant as they provide a platform to develop soft skills, leadership qualities, and pursue hobbies, balancing academic rigours.

    Careers 360: Is there any in-house magazine or journal for the latest events or happenings at the institute?

    Harshil Patel: Yes, the Press Club manages publications that cover institute news and student contributions.

    Careers 360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?

    Harshil Patel: Popular hangouts include the Cafeteria, Lotus Point, and the SAC. Nearby, students often visit the Infocity area and malls in Ahmedabad.

    Careers 360: How do you spend your leisure time on campus?

    Harshil Patel: Engaging in sports, photography, or hanging out with friends.

    Careers 360: What type of companies come for campus recruitment, and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the recruitment process here?

    Harshil Patel: Reputed tech giants and startups visit for recruitment. The placement percentage is consistently high, and the process is well-organised by the placement cell.

    Admission to the ICT branch at DAIICT depends on your GUJCET rank, board marks, category, and the year's cutoff. With around 85–90% in PCM and a 100+ score in GUJCET, there may be a chance for SEBC category students, but it depends on the final cutoff during counselling.
