    Established in 2001, Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAU) is a private state university located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. DAIICT Gandhinagar, renamed as Dhirubhai Ambani University, is also accredited by NAAC with an “A+” grade. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses. DAU Gandhinagar courses include BTech, MTech, MSc, M.Des., and PhD.

    Careers360: Tell us something about yourself, such as where you are from.

    Hari Sharma: My name is Hari Sharma, and I am from Vadodara, Gujarat.

    Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?

    Hari Sharma: No, I did not face any difficulties in the initial months of joining the institute.

    Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs, etc., for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?

    Hari Sharma: I'm a part of the photography club and electronics hobby club. As well as a member of the academic Committee under the student body government.

    Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?

    Hari Sharma: I wake up at 7 am and then we generally have lectures till 12 pm, then around 2-3 hours of lab and lab assignments, then in the afternoon onwards, we are free from the academic activities.

    Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.

    Hari Sharma: There are more than 100 faculties in the campus and 2000 students on campus. And the relations between faculty and students are quite nice. Many students do projects under the guidance of the faculty.

    Careers360: What facilities do you have on campus? What do you like here the most, which you feel is unique and differentiating?

    Hari Sharma: The campus is full of natural things and is a green campus. There is a very wide variety of species of birds on campus. And every tree has a QR that identifies it uniquely.

    Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels, and how about the cleanliness factor over there?

    Hari Sharma: Very comfortable, and we have all the necessities available in hostels.

    Careers360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail yourself of the requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?

    Hari Sharma: Yes, a 24-hr facility of ambulance is available and a medical centre.

    Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant they are from your point of view or students' point of view?

    Hari Sharma: There are 22 clubs and 8 committee students can join on campus. And it serves almost all the active interests of students.

    Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?

    Hari Sharma: Birding, photography and sitting at the lotus pond.

    Careers360: What type of companies come for campus recruitment, and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the recruitment process here?

    Hari Sharma: All the A1 companies. And the placement policies and processes are there on the college website.

    Admission to the ICT branch at DAIICT depends on your GUJCET rank, board marks, category, and the year's cutoff. With around 85–90% in PCM and a 100+ score in GUJCET, there may be a chance for SEBC category students, but it depends on the final cutoff during counselling.
