    Established in 2001, Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAU) is a private state university located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. DAIICT Gandhinagar, renamed as Dhirubhai Ambani University, is also accredited by NAAC with an “A+” grade. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses. DAU Gandhinagar courses include BTech, M.Tech., MSc, M.Des., and PhD.

    In this interview, Palash, who is a B.Tech student at DAU Gandhinagar, talks about the various details of the institute, along with the course pursuing, extracurricular activities at the campus, clubs, popular hangout spots and many more.

    Careers360: Tell us something about yourself, such as where you are from.

    Palash Sachdev: My name is Palash Sachdev, and I hail from Udaipur, the city of lakes.

    Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?

    Palash Sachdev: There were a lot of language issues in the initial months of joining the institute.

    Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs, etc., for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?

    Palash Sachdev: Yes, there are several clubs that offer various extracurricular activities. I am a part of the DAIICT Theatre Group (DTG).

    Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?

    Palash Sachdev: My day revolves around working out, attending classes, hitting the lab, and studying before finally sleeping.

    Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.

    Palash Sachdev: The faculty-student ratio and the teacher-student relationship at Dhirubhai Ambani University are good.

    Careers360: What facilities do you have on campus? What do you like here the most, which you feel is unique and differentiating?

    Palash Sachdev: The greenery in the campus is surrounded by various trees, which makes it unique and differentiating.

    Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels, and how about the cleanliness factor over there?

    Palash Sachdev: It's clean mostly.

    Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?

    Palash Sachdev: I just study more instead of using the phone.

    Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant they are from your point of view or students' point of view?

    Palash Sachdev: The clubs and societies on campus are important in socialising and making connections.

    Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?

    Palash Sachdev: The popular hangouts at the institute are the S point and the LT foyer.

    Admission to the ICT branch at DAIICT depends on your GUJCET rank, board marks, category, and the year's cutoff. With around 85–90% in PCM and a 100+ score in GUJCET, there may be a chance for SEBC category students, but it depends on the final cutoff during counselling.
