Jaipur, December 8: Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology, Management & Gramothan (SKIT), Jaipur successfully inaugurated the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 - Software Edition on December 8, launching an intense 36-hour innovation marathon featuring 150 young innovators from across India.
The ceremony was graced by Professor Nimit Ranjan Chowdhary, Honourable Vice Chancellor of RTU Kota, as the Chief Guest, and Mr Manish Kumar from NCVET, Ministry of Skill Development, as the Guest of Honour. Also present at SKIT Jaipur were Mr. Kamal Singh and Mr. Amit Parshetti.
Professor Nimit Ranjan Chowdhary emphasised the critical importance of Amritkal—India's demographic opportunity window—in achieving Viksit Bharat. "Initiatives like Smart India Hackathon inject these much-needed creative ideas into society for its betterment," he stated, highlighting how such platforms channel youth creativity toward pressing national challenges. While Mr. Manish Kuma emphasised how these solutions could transform skilling and vocational education across India.

Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice Chairman of AICTE, thanked Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Secretary of Higher Education Dr. Vineet Joshi, and all officials supporting SIH across 60 centers nationwide. SIH has grown exponentially with 271 real-world problem statements from 80 ministries, PSUs, and industry departments. The Prime Minister has called for implementing these solutions across all ministries. There has been a 26% rise in innovations compared to last year, with female student participation surging 75.4% to 3,34,456 participants nationwide.
Professor TG Sitharam, Chairman of AICTE, emphasised Viksit Bharat and announced AICTE's Productisation Fellowship, offering one-year stipends to four-member teams, extendable based on results. He highlighted three government initiatives: ULLAS Platform, Universal Human Values Courses, and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
SKIT Chairman Mr. Surja Ram Meel expressed pride in hosting this prestigious event for the third time. Twenty-five teams from 11 states are working on five NCVET problem statements, competing for Rs. 1 lakh prize per problem statement. SKIT has ensured comprehensive support including accommodation, round-the-clock meals, 24/7 medical facilities, security, and technical assistance. Being selected as one of 42 Software Edition nodal centers reflects SKIT's excellence in fostering innovation.
The event is organised with AICTE and the Ministry of Education, supported by SBI Foundation, Claude, TCS, Persistent, and media partners. Smart India Hackathon is the Government of India's flagship initiative to nurture innovative solutions for real-world challenges.

With a General EWS rank of 1604 in REAP 2025 , you have a good chance of getting CSE (Core or Specialisations like AI/DS), IT, or AIDS in private colleges like JECRC and SKIT Jaipur based on previous year cut-offs.
However, the availability of branches depends on the number of applicants, seat intake, and category. You should fill all choices and keep options open for better chances.

Your EWS category rank of 1596 is quite decent. Based on past year trends, you do have chances of getting CSE or IT in some good colleges through REAP. But getting core CSE in JECERC Foundation or SKIT might be a little tough to get but you can try it and keep this in your choice.

National Institute of Technology Silchar is a very renowned college and has a very good presence among the Institutes of National Importance. The placement season in NIT Silchar is a very bright time as the major recruiters come here to pick students for their companies.
