GATE branch wise cutoff 2026: The IIT Guwahati will release the GATE 2026 branch-wise cutoff online. Candidates can check the GATE cut-off branch-wise on the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The GATE cutoff 2026 will be released for all branches and for each category. The expected general cutoff for GATE is around 30-34 marks, 27-31 marks for OBC-NCL/EWS category, and 20-23 marks for SC/ST category. The branch-wise cutoff for GATE will vary depending upon the aspirants appeared, seat intakes, difficulty level of the exam, trends, and others. The cut-offs will help applicants to find their chances of admission in GATE accepting colleges and recruitment in PSU’s.
Students will be able to check the GATE result on gate2026.iitg.ac.in and goaps.iitg.ac.in/login, using their login credentials such as enrollment ID and password.

According to the information brochure, the GATE cutoff for SC, ST, and OBC category will be calculated on the basis of general category cutoff. Candidates can check the formula for calculating the GATE cutoff 2026:

GATE Cutoff for OBC-NCL/EWS category = (9/10) × Qualifying marks for GENERAL category
GATE Cutoff for SC/ST/PwD category = (2/3) × Qualifying marks for GENERAL category

Yes, you can get a seat in VLSI. However, different colleges have different cut-off scores. Check the respective college GATE cut off before applying.
Every PSU has different cut-off marks and eligibility. Hence, it is suggested to apply for PSU after checking the eligibility. Also, they do not reveal the marks of the finally selected candidates. So, wait for the final merit list.
If you are getting confused, you can explore more courses after 12th for the science stream . Based on your interest, you can pursue B.Tech in CSE and later specialise in cybersecurity. After your graduation, you can appear in GATE to pursue higher studies in some of the top institutes
Yes. You can. GATE eligibility specifies that students in their 3rd year and above can appear for the exam. Since the results are valid for 3 years, you can use the same for your admissions.
