IIT Guwahati has announced the Branch-wise GATE 2026 exam dates on its official website. Every year GATE exam will be conducted in 2 sessions each day, with a morning session and an afternoon session. The GATE exam will be conducted in 30 different subjects. GATE Schedule 2026 Highlights & Guidelines

  • The GATE 2026 exam is held for 3 hours.

  • Candidates with disabilities will get an extra hour, extended to 4 hours.

  • Candidates have to occupy their seats 40 minutes before the examination.

  • Candidates arriving for the exam more than 30 minutes after the scheduled examination time will not be allowed to log in.

  • Candidates must log in and read the instructions 20 minutes before the start of the examination.

  • Candidates are not allowed to leave the examination hall before the end of the GATE examination time.
