Step 1 - Registration: In the first step, the candidates have to complete the registration process for Maharashtra M.Tech 2026 counselling. To be registered, the candidates will have to enter their personal, academic and contact details. The required fee also has to be paid through online mode. Step 2 - Declaration of Merit List: The final provisional merit list will be released on the official website. The names of the candidates who have been selected to participate in the counselling session will be available on the merit list. Objections against the provisional merit list will be accepted at the facilitation centres.

Step 3 - Choice Filling and Locking: The selected candidates have to fill in their choice of colleges and courses in online mode. The candidates must select their choice of colleges and courses in the order of preference. During allotment, this factor will be checked by the authorities. Candidates are advised to select as many choices as possible. A printout of the filled-out choices has to be taken for future use.

Step 4 - Seat Allotment: The authorities will announce the MHT CET M.Tech 2026 seat allotment online. Candidates will be able to check their results and download the allotment letter by logging in using the required credentials. Allotment of seats will be done as per the candidate’s merit, preferences, category and availability of seat. After allotment, the candidates will be able to choose their preferred option from the ones given below:

Freezing: This option has to be selected if the candidate is satisfied with his/her allotted seat and wants to confirm the admission.

Sliding: This option has to be selected if the candidate accepts the allotment but is also open for admission into a higher preferred course in the same institute during the later rounds of counselling.

Floating: Candidates can select this option if they accept the allotted seat but are willing to be admitted into a higher preferred course in any institute during the next rounds of Maharashtra M.Tech 2026 counselling.

Step 5 - Reporting to Admission Centres: After the allotment process is over, the selected candidates will have to report to the respective admission centres to confirm their admission. If the candidates are unable to report within the given time, then they will be disqualified. The confirmation of admission will be done by payment of the admission fee and verification of documents.

To participate in the fourth round, the candidates should not have been allotted in the previous counselling rounds. For this round, those candidates who did not participate in the choice filling for the first round will also be eligible. Candidates who were allotted but did not accept it will also be eligible.
