COAP 2025 Eligibility- IISc Bengaluru released the COAP 2025 eligibility criteria on the official website. The eligibility for COAP registration 2025 is the conditions and guidelines that must be fulfilled by the candidates to complete the registration. The basic eligibility to participate in COAP 2025 is that candidates need to have a valid GATE exam Score. The authority commenced the COAP 2025 applications on March 27, 2025.                 The authority conducts the COAP GATE counselling in 5 phases. Candidates should meet the COAP GATE eligibility while applying for the GATE 2025 counselling. Failure to do so may result in the candidate being disqualified from attending the COAP counselling 2025.

The detailed COAP 2025 eligibility criteria are given below. Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility requirements before applying for admission. Only the candidates whose applications meet the criteria below will be accepted for COAP counselling
Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
Candidates should have valid GATE scores (Qualified in GATE 2025/2024/2023).
There is no minimum age limit to participate in COAP counselling.
In case a candidate possesses multiple GATE 2025 scores, details of all the scores must be mentioned while applying for the counselling.
Candidates who meet the following requirements can apply for COAP counselling.
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) or equivalent from a recognised university.
While there is no minimum qualification for the GATE registration, the participating institutes might have a minimum qualifying mark. The qualifying marks for various reservation categories are specified below.
For General/OBC/EWS Categories: Minimum of 60% aggregate marks or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale in the qualifying degree.
For SC/ST/PwD Categories: Minimum of 55% aggregate marks or a CGPA of 5.5 on a 10-point scale
Some institutes may also accept a First Class as per the university's criteria.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Candidates who have a valid GATE 2023, 2024 and 2025 scores are eligible for the COAP registration.
Candidates with a grade point of 8 and above may directly apply for admissions to interested institutes without applying through the COAP portal.

The GATE 2026 Agricultural Engineering (AG) paper will have a total of 100 marks. Out of this, 15 marks are for General Aptitude and 85 marks are for core Agricultural Engineering subjects.
The marks are generally distributed among major topics like Engineering Mathematics (12–13 marks), Farm Machinery (10–11), Farm Power (14–15), Soil & Water Conservation (12–13), Irrigation & Drainage (10–12), Agricultural Process Engineering (10–12), and Dairy & Food Engineering (9–10 marks).
The official qualifying marks for GATE 2026 are not yet released. However, based on previous years, the cutoff for the Agricultural Engineering paper is expected to be around 25 marks for General, 22.5 for OBC/EWS, and 16.6 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

 If you're in 2nd year right now, you can’t register for GATE 2026 just yet.
 
 The exam is only open to students in the 3rd year or beyond in their degree.
 
 It’s mainly because the GATE tests subjects that are usually taught later in your course.
 
 But don’t worry,  you are in a great position to start preparing early!
 
 Focus on your basics, practice problem-solving, and build strong concepts now.
