The PTU MTech eligibility criteria 2025 are published online. Candidates must check the PTU M.Tech 2025 eligibility criteria before filling out the PTU M.Tech application form 2025. Applicants should qualify for the minimum PTU M.Tech eligibility criteria to be eligible for final seat allotment. Candidates can refer to PTU M.Tech eligibility criteria mentioned below -
To be eligible for PTU M.Tech admission 2025, candidates must have passed B.E/B.Tech with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and possessing a valid GATE score.
However, candidates belonging to the reserved category must have scored a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate to be eligible for the admission process.
85% of the seats will be reserved for residents of Punjab, whereas 15% seats will be for outsiders, and admission to these seats will be done based on GATE scores.
If any seats remain vacant after admitting candidates based on GATE scores, the admission process will be based on the marks obtained by the candidates in their qualifying exam.
The application form for PTU M.Tech 2025 has commenced on the official website, ptu.ac.in. Candidates will have to pay the counselling fee for successful registeration. Refer to the given steps below to fill PTU M.Tech 2025 application form.
To apply for PTU M.Tech 2025, there are three steps to follow:
Step 1: Payment of Counselling Fees - Candidates need to pay a counselling fee of Rs 2000 to participate in the PTU M.Tech 2025 counselling. To pay the fee, candidates have to select the course and provide all the necessary details such as name, father's name, date of birth, email id and mobile number. An OTP will be generated and sent to the registered mobile number of the candidate. Once the OTP is entered in the space provided, a log-in ID and password will be generated and sent to the registered email address. Candidates can then enter their debit/credit card or net banking details to make the payment.
Step 2: Filling of Application Form - After paying the counselling fee, candidates need to re-login with the received Login Id and password to fill in all the required details of the form, such as eligibility, academic details, personal details, etc.
Step 3: Choice Filling - Once the application form is completed, candidates need to fill in their choices of institutes and courses. Candidates should fill in as many choices as possible to increase their chances of getting a seat allotment.
The merit list for PTU M.Tech 2025 will be prepared by the university by taking into account the scores of candidates in GATE as well as their marks in the qualifying B.E/B.Tech exam. Candidates with valid GATE scores will be given preference. The remaining seats will be filled based on the inter se merit of PTU M.Tech 2025.
The authorities prepare an inter se PTU MTech admission 2025 merit list in case of a tie between candidates which are as below.
The first preference will be given to GATE scores followed by aggregate percentage marks of all semesters of B.E/B.Tech.
In case of a tie after this then the candidate with higher marks in an aggregate of 10+2 will be given a higher rank.
If a tie continues to persist, the older candidate in age will be given a higher rank.
The counselling process for PTU M.Tech admission 2025 is conducted by the university online in a centralised manner. The PTU M.Tech Counselling 2025 will be held in two rounds annually. Candidates wanting to participate could do so from any location, provided they had a functional laptop/desktop and an internet connection. Candidates are required to pay the counselling fee, complete registration, and then select their preferred options. Those who were assigned seats need to go to the designated institutes for document verification.
