In the 2025 NIRF Rankings, NIT Delhi has fallen in rankings from 45 in 2024 to 65 in 2025. This is characteristic of establishing NTs like NIT Delhi.
NIT Delhi has shown tremendous growth in the engineering category over the previous years. Hence, it is expected to feature in the top 50 rankings according to the NIRF 2025 rankings.
Before 2022, NIT Delhi was not listed in the NIRF rankings. However, in the 2022 NIRF rankings, it was listed at 194. As a newer institute that was established in 2010, by 2022, the institute had started to establish and develop its infrastructure, research facilities and placement infrastructures. While it was included in the list, it was still a long way from competing with established NITs at Trichy and Suratkal.
However, according to the NIRF Rankings in the year 2023, NIT Delhi was ranked at 51. This was a huge leap from the 194 of the previous year. This leap highlighted the institute’s growth in various parameters like placements and research infrastructure.
In the NIRF 2024 Rankings, NIT Delhi was ranked 49, which, while being a small change in position from the previous year, indicates that there is a steady growth for the institute and that the consistency of growth is being maintained.
