    IIST B.Tech Admission 2026 - The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) has announced the IIST B.Tech admission 2026 dates on the official website, iist.ac.in. The IIST authority will commence the IIST online registration for B.Tech 2026 on May 26. Candidates who qualified the JEE Advanced must fill out the IIST B.Tech application form. To access the IIST registartion form for B.Tech, they need their registrated email ID and password. The last date of IIST registration form is June 10, 2026. The authority will release the IIST B.Tech rank list on June 12, 2026. Candidates whose names appeared in the rank list are eligible for the counselling process. To download the rank list, candidates need their IIST registration number and password.

    The authorities will activate the IIST B.Tech 2026 application form link on May 26, 2026. The application form submission involved registration, form filling, and payment of the application fee. Candidates have to complete the application process for IIST Thiruvananthapuram B.Tech. admission within the given timeline.

    Steps to fill the IIST B.Tech Application Form

    Candidates can refer to the following steps for filling out the application form of IIST B.Tech 2026-

    Step 1: Registration and form filling- Candidates who appear for JEE Advanced 2026 and satisfy all the eligibility conditions will first have to register by entering basic details like name, mobile number, etc. Candidates will also be required to enter all other required details of the form. On successful registration, candidates will receive a system-generated IIST Registration Number. Candidates will also be asked to specify a password.

    Candidates will also be required to upload a scanned image of their photograph uploaded during JEE Advanced 2026 registration in this step.

    Step 2: Payment of Application fee- Once all the details are entered, candidates will have to pay the registration fee of IIST B.Tech 2026. Payment of the registration fee can be done in online mode only by clicking on the “Pay Registration Fee” link. Receipt of payment will be confirmed through registered Email and mobile number.

    IIST B.Tech Admission 2026 Rank List

    The authorities will release the IIST B.Tech Admission rank list 2026 online on June 12, 2026. The IIST B.Tech 2026 rank list will be generated only for candidates who have completed their registration and paid the fee before the last date. The IIST B.Tech rank list has been prepared only based on JEE Advanced scores. The authorities follow a tie-breaking rule in case of similar marks obtained by two or more candidates in the JEE Advanced 2026 examination.

    IIST B.Tech Admission Rank List: Tie-breaking Rule

    • In case of a tie, candidates with higher marks in Mathematics will be given a higher rank.

    • If a tie still persists, candidates with higher marks in Physics will be given a higher rank.

    • If a tie still persists, candidates with a higher rank in the JEE Main 2026 examination (in the respective category) will be assigned a higher rank.

    IIST B.Tech Counselling and Seat Allotment 2026

    The authorities will conduct the IIST B.Tech 2026 counselling and seat allotment in online mode. Candidates can refer to the complete IIST B.Tech counselling and seat allotment 2026 process given below-

    IIST B.Tech 2026 Counselling: Filling-in of Branch Preferences

    • Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the IIST B.Tech admission rank list will have to fill in their preferences of branches during registration.

    • IIST B.Tech counselling will not be completed without entering branch preferences.

    • Candidates are advised to submit their branch preferences before the last date. The choices filled by the candidates will get automatically locked after the last date.

    • Candidates will not be allowed to make changes to their choices after locking.

    IIST B.Tech Seat Allotment 2026

    • A detailed schedule of IIST B.Tech seat allotment/Acceptance rounds is released by the authorities.

    • Based on available vacancies, IIST B.Tech seat allocation is done in order of merit as per the preferences filled in by the candidates.

    • Candidates satisfied with the IIST B.Tech seat allotment will have to choose the Freeze option and proceed to confirm seat acceptance.

    • Candidates choosing the Freeze option will not be further considered for their higher preferences, if any.

    • Candidates who wish to be considered for their higher preferences but want to confirm their allotted seat will be required to choose the Slide option and proceed to confirm seat acceptance.

    • Branch choices will automatically slide up as per the preference order filled-in by the candidates on the basis of available vacancies and merit.

    IIST B.Tech Seat Acceptance 2026

    Candidates opting for the Freeze or Slide options during an IIST B.Tech seat allocation round are required to accept the seat. First of all, candidates are to pay the First Semester Fee amounting to INR 34000 (charges towards the Hostel and Dining amounting to INR 14400 will be collected on arrival at IIST) before the specified date in online mode. Next, the candidates are required to upload the scanned documents as mentioned below-

    On successful uploading of documents, a provisional admit card of candidates will be generated. Candidates will be able to download their admit card by logging in to the candidate portal. Candidates must note that they will be required to produce this admit at the time of joining IIST.
