Hello Alka
For JEE Advance, the best 5 subjects through which you need to calculate your percentage is:
1. Physics
2. Chemistry
3. Mathematics
4. One language (which is English)
5. One other subject of your choice
So you will need to choose PCM + English + a 5th subject to calculate your percentage.
Hope this answer helps! Thank You!!!
Yes, the 47 LPA package might have been either off-campus based placement or through pre-placement offer (PPO) and not the college's on-campus drive. A lot of institutions put off-campus offers in the highest amount of packages. Always confirm placement reports to be clear.
With a NEET 2025 rank of 3,66,000, you may have a chance to get a seat in Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Tumkur under the management quota, especially in the later rounds of counselling. In previous years, seats in deemed universities like SSMC Tumkur have gone to ranks beyond 9 lakh in the stray vacancy rounds.
However, getting a seat under the government quota is unlikely with this rank. You should participate in the MCC counselling for deemed universities and keep an eye on the cutoff trends in each round.
Hello,
Yes, a person with 40% disability due to OCD and a temporary mental illness certificate valid for 2 years can get reservation in JEE Main and JEE Advanced, if the certificate meets the official requirements.
Eligibility for PwD Reservation in JEE Main & Advanced
As per NTA (JEE Main) and IITs (JEE Advanced) guidelines:
PwD reservation is available for candidates with 40% or more disability.
The disability must be certified by a competent medical authority, as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
Mental illness, including OCD, is recognized under this Act.
Yes, you are eligible for JEE Advanced 2026.
You passed Class 12 in 2024 (CBSE) but didn’t meet the 75% requirement, so you reappeared through NIOS in 2025 and scored 75%. Since NIOS is a recognized board and you now meet the 75% eligibility, you’re allowed to appear for JEE Advanced in 2026. Also, JEE Advanced allows attempts in the year of passing 12th and the following year. So as long as you qualify JEE Main 2026 and are in the top 2.5 lakh candidates, you’re eligible.

Hello,
Thank you !
Hello aspirant,
Congratulations on your performance in both JEE Main and JEE Advanced. With a JEE Main rank of around 11,200, you stand a decent chance of getting branches like CSE (in newer IIITs), ECE, Mechanical, or related streams in NITs such as NIT Calicut, NIT Nagpur, and NIT Rourkela, depending on your category and home state. Your JEE Advanced rank of 8,700 may fetch you seats in some of the newer IITs or less core branches in older ones like IIT BHU or IIT ISM Dhanbad.
If you're unsure about which college or branch to choose, it’s a good idea to first make a list of your priorities—like your preferred branch, location, research or placement focus—and then look at previous year cutoffs for those colleges. You can also use college predictors based on your rank to get a clearer idea of your options.
Hope this helps you take the next step confidently. All the best for your counselling and future journey.
dear student,
At an SC rank of 4276 in JEE Advanced , getting into older IITs (like Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kanpur) isn’t possible — even for less popular branches, these usually close below SC rank 2000–2500.
But
you still have good chances in newer IITs
and
IIT (ISM) Dhanbad
, especially for core branches like
Civil, Mechanical, Electrical
, and a few interdisciplinary programs.
like:
IIT Bhilai – Civil, Mechanical, Electrical
IIT Jammu – Civil, Mechanical, Chemical
IIT Dharwad – Civil, Mechanical
IIT Goa – Mechanical, possibly Civil in later rounds
IIT Palakkad / Tirupati – Civil, Mechanical
IIT ISM Dhanbad – Mining, Petroleum, Environmental, Civil, Interdisciplinary
IIT Jodhpur – Sometimes Civil or lesser opted branches
These options mostly open up in later JoSAA rounds , and availability may vary slightly year to year.
Hi aspirant,
For a JEE Advance rank of 5,000 or between 5,000 and 10,000, candidates can consider IITs like,
These are not 100% accurate so you just have chances to get into one of these. You may want to check the cutoffs individually. This is a rough figure for you because at the end it depends on various factors like the cutoffs, no, of candidates and etc. Below mentioned is the link where you can find more details about which colleges you might get under this rank. Kindly refer to it.
