About JEECE 2019

Jharkhand Engineering Entrance Competitive Examination (JEECE) is a state level engineering entrance exam which is conducted by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) in offline mode. The only citizen of India and local/permanent resident of Jharkhand are eligible to take part in JEECE. Three hour long entrances exams tests aspirants knowledge of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. The question paper will contain 50 questions each from all three subjects. While every correct answer fetches one mark for every wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted from total obtained marks. The question in exam paper will be provided in English and Hindi languages. Successful candidates will be called to take part in the counselling process and will be allotted seat on the basis of marks obtained by them in the JEECE 2019.

As there is no maximum or minimum age limit for JEECE, aspirants need not worry about this; but the candidates who want to study BE/BTech programmes available at the participant of JEECE 2019 need to apply for this entrance exam and qualify it apart from fulfilling the prescribed eligibility, admission criteria, aspirants should be medically fit. Eligibility criteria for JEECE 2019 are given below:

  • The aspirant must be an Indian citizen and local/permanent resident of Jharkhand state.
  • He/She must have qualified 12 or equivalent exam with compulsory Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) subjects and should have scored not less than 45% total marks in these subjects. If aspirant belongs to reserved category his/her total marks in PCM should not be less than 40%.
  • For admission only Medically fit aspirants will be considered eligible.

Application for JEECE 2019 will be available in only online mode, therefore, candidates will only be able to apply it online. Application form of JEECE 2019 will be made available by the Mid-April and aspirants will be needed to fill it cautiously and with correct information, because it found at any stage that aspirant had taken admission on the basis of false information his/her candidature will be canceled. Before applying for JEECE 2019 candidates need to read eligibility criteria carefully and make sure that they are eligible for applying, only then start preparing for filling application form by registering on the application portal.

In order to register on the application portal, the aspirants need to own a valid e-mail address and mobile no. with the help of these two information aspirants will be able to register themselves. After the registration process is done candidates can move towards filling the JEECE 2019 application form. Apart from entering fields related to personal information, academic details, address, city name etc. aspirants will have to upload scanned soft copies of their Photo, Impression of Left hand and Signature. These images should be in JPEG format and within the prescribed size. The applicants will be needed to pay the prescribed application fee of Rs. 900/- (for SC/ST and female candidates Rs. 450/-) by using the Debit/Credit card or Net Banking service or any other mode suggested in the brochure.

Applicants are not needed to send a copy of the online application to the board but they are advised to keep safely 3-4 copies of the same for reference. 

JEECE 2019 Preparation Tips


Best possible preparation can help in cracking any exam. In order to that making oneself familiar with the Syllabus and pattern of the exam will play a crucial role. After becoming familiar with these two, making strategy according to ones positive and negative points will help in cracking JEECE 2019. Here candidates need to know that in case of a tie of score Candidates having more marks in Mathematics will get preference and if marks are also equal in Mathematics then candidates having scored better score in Physics will be given weightage. 

JEECE 2019 Exam Pattern

Candidates who will score good mark and will have secure a rank within the notified rank range. Rank Range will be based on the scored obtained by the aspirant in the JEECE 2019. In this scenario performing will becomes necessary for getting a seat in a good institute that too in preferred branch. Having knowledge of Exam pattern of JEECE 2019 will help in a big way here. There will be 150 questions in the question paper, 50 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects each and candidates will get 180 minutes to solve them. Questions will be objective in nature and these will be multiple choice questions (MCQ), there will be, therefore, options and students will have to select the right answer and mark that on OMR sheet. There For each correct answer applicant will get 1 mark while 0.25 marks will be canceled for each wrong answer. As negative marking will be done in order to score well candidates are advised to refrain from guess answering. Selecting more than one answer on OMR sheet will fetch candidates -0.25 marks. Questions will be printed in English and Hindi languages in case of ambiguity in question the English version will be treated as final.

Admit card for JEECE 2019 will not be mail to the address given by aspirant. It will be made available on the Board's site. The candidates are supposed to download it from there and must adhere to the instruction given on it. Apart from personal information, it will provide important information like Roll no, Address and Name of the allotted exam center to the candidate. It there is any discrepancy in it the candidates should inform about the same to the board. The aspirants need to take part in the JEECE 2019 with the downloaded Admit cart, in the meantime board will a to rectify the mistakes for future use.

Under any circumstance, candidates should refrain from making a change in JEECE 2019 Admit card on their own and the must keep it carefully until the admission process is over.

JEECE 2019 Answer Key

Once exams are done, Board will release the answer key for JEECE 2019 so that candidates can check what would be their approximate score on the basis of correctly and incorrectly attempted questions. The aspirant will get the opportunity to challenge the correctness of answers given in JEECE 2019 answer keys. Board doesn't have any provision of accepting revaluation/rechecking of answer sheet so any request made towards will not be entertained.

Usually, Board declares the result of JEECE 2019 in the month of June on its site. It is declared after the evaluation of the answer sheets of candidates. Candidates can download it from the result page of JCECE Board with the help of their roll no. The aspirants will be called for the counselling on the basis of their score in JEECE 2019.

JEECE 2019 Counselling

Mode of Counselling: Online

Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCEBEB) would conduct online counselling for allocating the seats. There would be two round of counselling. The Counselling process for JEECE 2019 is expected to begin in the month of July. After the declaration of result of JEECE 2019 aspirants will be invited for taking part in the counselling as per their JEECE Rank. A Notice in this regard will be issued by the JCECEB which can be seen under the 'Notice' tab on JCECEB's official page board will also advertise the same in Daily Newspapers of state. Candidates need to be physically present for the process. During the counselling process candidates will get options of Institute and Courses available according to their Rank and candidates will have to select the most appropriate one for themselves. 

In order to take part in the counselling aspirant will have to pay Rs. 400/- (for SC/ST/Female candidates Rs. 250/-). The payment can be done by RTGS or by swiping their Debit/Credit Card on POS machine provided for this purpose. Candidates will also have the option of paying Counselling fee by Bank Challan, for this challan form can be availed from the download section on Board's website.

Candidates are advised to bring the bring the original copies of all the relevant document along with the self-attested copies, without document verification they will not be able to take part in the process.

Apart from Counselling fee candidates will have to pay Rs. 1000/- for getting the allocation of a specific branch in the institute of their choice, This amount will be adjusted against the total fee of course. The payment can be done by using the Debit/Credit card or by DD made in favour of Controller of Examination, JCECEB payable at Ranchi.

If needed, only the second round of counselling will be conducted for the seats remaining vacant after the first round. The aspirant who took part in the first round can also participate in the second round of counselling process.
