GITAM GAT Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2019: It goes without saying that no preparation is complete without going through the GITAM GAT 2019 exam pattern and syllabus. It is because the exam pattern and syllabus of GITAM GAT 2019 carries important details about the exam like – it will be conducted online (computer-based test mode), there is negative marking and mathematics carry maximum weightage. The exam pattern of GITAM GAT also tells questions will be objective type – there will be 100 MCQs that have to be attempted in 120 minutes. If the GITAM GAT aspirant knows these details before, he/she will know to focus on speed and accuracy, and also pay special attention to mathematics, without of course neglecting the other subjects. Please note questions in the exam will be asked from topics included in GITAM GAT 2019 syllabus only.  GITAM GAT 2019 Exam Pattern 

Duration: 2 hours

Mode of exam: Online Computer-based test (CBT)

Question Type: Objective type (multiple-choice questions) will be asked. Each question will have four options, out of which only one will be correct

Marking scheme:

  • Correct answer: 4 marks will be awarded

  • Incorrect response: 1 mark will be deducted.

  • No response: Nil marks will be awarded

Subjects: The question paper will have three subjects or sections – physics, chemistry and mathematics.

Why should one be familiar with GITAM GAT exam pattern 2019?   

Since the GITAM GAT 2019 exam pattern carries important information like type mode of exam, types and number of questions asked, and more, preparing for the exam becomes that much easire:

  • As per the exam pattern of GITAM GAT 2019, only objective type questions will be asked. So, the candidate may not spend their time preparing for long-subjective type questions.

  • Also, there will be 100 MCQs to be attempted in 120 minutes, meaning the candidate has to focus on speed and accuracy, two important ingredients to do well in the exam.

  • Another key takeaway from the exam pattern of GITAM GAT is mathematics carry the highest weighatge. So, the candidate must pay special attention to the subject if they want to get a good score.
