Generally, the easiest shift of JEE Main 2025 January was shift 1 on 29th January. The reason was that papers had easy Physics questions and theoretical approaches in Chemistry. The Chemistry section was very NCERT-based, particularly the Inorganic and Organic Chemistry, and therefore limited the level of ambiguity. The table below summarizes why it was the easiest.
Aspect | Observation |
Generally Perceived Easiest Shift | 29 January 2025 – Shift 1 |
Physics Difficulty | Easy to Moderate; formula-based and direct application |
Chemistry Difficulty | Easy; highly NCERT-based (Inorganic & Organic) |
Mathematics Difficulty | Moderate to Difficult; lengthy and time-consuming |
Overall Difficulty Level | Moderate |
January physics was based on standard formulas and direct application and could be handled by well-prepared students. But also, mathematics was time-consuming in the majority of shifts, which did not allow Session 1 to have an overall easy paper. Thereby, it was overall moderate.
