With a CRL of 1.53 lakh, being an outside Delhi OBC candidate with defence quota priority VI, your chances of getting a CS-related branch like CSAM, CSD, CSSS, CSAI, or CSE at IIIT Delhi are unfortunately very low. The closing ranks for OBC and even for OBC with defence quota usually stay well below your rank, often within the top 80,000. Even with the quota, priority VI doesn’t offer as much relaxation as the higher priorities.
So realistically, it's unlikely you'll get a CS branch at IIIT Delhi with this rank this year. You might want to keep some backup options in mind or consider a drop year if IIIT Delhi is your goal.
Hello Gautam
A diploma holder is eligible and ineligible for the following:
1. NDA: No, a diploma holder is not eligible for NDA as they require the candidates to be passed or appearing in Class 12th.
2. JEE Main s: Similarly, a diploma holder is not eligible for JEE Mains as it is only for 12th passed/appearing students with PCM.
3. JEE Advance: Yes, a diploma holder is eligible for JEE Advance and can aim for IITs.
Regarding your second doubt:
No, a diploma holder is not eligible to take admission in NITs on the basis of JEE MAIN marks
. A diploma holder can only aim for IITs and that too on the basis of JEE Advance.
Thank you!!!
With an 85.4824 percentile in JEE Main and eligibility under the North East quota (EWS category), you have a decent chance of getting into SOE Tezpur's Mechanical or Civil Engineering branches, though it may depend on the specific round and seat availability.
Here’s what the recent cutoff trends suggest:
Mechanical Engineering:
2024 Closing Rank (General category, All India quota): Around 185140 for North East quota, the cutoff tends to be more relaxed, especially for reserved categories like EWS
Civil Engineering :
2024 Closing Rank (General category, All India quota): Around 209876 again, NE quota + EWS reservation could work in your favor
Since your percentile roughly translates to a rank near 140,000–160,000, you're within striking range, especially for Civil Engineering. Mechanical might be slightly tighter, but still possible depending on the round.
All The Best!

With a JEE Main percentile of 51 and an OBC-NCL rank around 2.8 lakh admission to NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs is not possible, as these institutes usually require an OBC rank below 50,000. However, you can still explore state-level counseling where some government colleges accept higher ranks. Private universities like SRM, VIT, or Amity also offer good programs and may admit students with moderate scores. Alternatively, you can consider B.Sc. courses such as Cardiology or Computer Science through CUET, where cutoffs are generally more accessible. If you've determined to get into top colleges, taking a drop year to prepare and reattempt JEE is also a valid option.

Hello,
With a 76 merit rank in the SC category (JEE category) for DAIICT , you have a good chance of getting the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) branch. Based on past trends, SC category cutoffs for ICT are usually higher than your rank.
However, final allotment depends on seat availability and number of applicants. Keep checking official rounds and stay updated through the DAIICT counselling portal.
Hope it helps !
Hello,
With ST rank 25,678 and CRL 9,33,567 in JEE Mains 2025 , your chances in JoSAA are very low, especially for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, even in lower branches. That’s why you haven’t got any seat till Round 3.
Here’s what you can do now:
1. JoSAA Remaining Rounds:
There is a very small chance, but not guaranteed. You may still wait till Round 5 and 6, but don’t fully depend on it.
2. CSAB Counselling:
Yes, you
should definitely go for CSAB
. Sometimes seats remain vacant after JoSAA, and you may get a chance in lower branches or less popular GFTIs/NITs. CSAB is your best chance now.
3. OJEE Counselling:
This is also a good backup option. Since you're focusing on government colleges, keep following OJEE rounds actively.
Hope it helps !
