Kerala M.Tech Counselling 2019 - Directorate of Technical Education, DTE will conduct the Kerala M.Tech 2019 Counselling in the month of July. Admissions will be offered to GATE qualified candidates on the basis of their score in GATE exam. Students who want to apply for M.Tech admission have to register online for Kerala M.Tech Counselling in online mode. The registrations for Kerala M.Tech Counselling 2019 will begin tentatively in first week of June. Students have to register online, fill the application form and send it to the official authority by post along with all the necessary documents. The DTE Kerala will formulate a rank list on the basis of students score in GATE exam and seats will be allotted through a centralised counselling in the order of merit. Students have to fill their choices of colleges while filling the application form and the allotment of seats will be done as per the choices filled by candidates and their category and rank in merit.Students can find below all the information regarding Kerala M.Tech Counselling 2019

Eligibility Criteria: Students who want to take admission in M.Tech course through Kerala M.Tech Counselling 2019 should fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria

  • Candidate should have passed the qualifying exam with an aggregate 60% marks from an AICTE approved institute.

  • Candidate belonging to SC/ST category just need a pass class and SEBC category candidates need 54% aggregate marks in qualifying degree.

  • Candidates who are appearing in their final year exam are also eligible to apply provided they have all their exam cleared till third year.

  • In case when the seats remain vacant, candidates of Kerala origin without GATE score will be offered admission.

  • Candidates who are applying through sponsored seat need not to have GATE score.

Kerala M.Tech 2019 Counselling Procedure: Students who want to take admission in M.Tech through Kerala M.Tech Counselling 2019 must know the procedure followed by DTE. Students can find below the step by step guide for the whole admission process


Step-1 Registration : Students have to first register online and fill the detailed application form  by visiting the official portal of DTE portal. Student must take care that every particular entry is correctly filled as wrong information can lead to rejection/cancellation of admission. After filling the application form, student must pay the application fee of Rs. 500 (Rs.100 in case of SC/ST category student). Completely filled application form along with the self attested xerox copies of all the documents must be sent by post within specified date to the below mentioned address

Documents to be sent along with the Application Form: Candidates must send the xerox copies of all the below listed documents along with the submitted application form

  • Marksheets and certificates of Class 10 and 12

  • Qualifying degree statement of marks for all the semesters 

  • Degree/Provisional certificate of qualifying degree 

  • GATE score card with a valid score

  • Community certificate from the competent authority in case applying for reservation

  • PwD certificates for students claiming the reservation under PwD category

  • Sponsorship letter in case of student applying through sponsored seat


Step-2 Publication of Merit List: The Directorate of Technical Education will be releasing the Kerala M.Tech Counselling 2019 merit list before the allocation of seats to candidates. Merit list will be formulated on the basis of candidates score in GATE exam. The organizing institute will first publish a draft rank list before publishing the final merit list. The purpose of draft rank list is to make students familiarize with the formulation of ranks and to give them an idea about their position in rank list. Students are advised to verify their category, branch and choices after the publication of draft rank list and report to the authority if any discrepancy is found. The final merit list will be published in the official website of DTE, Kerala.


Step-3 Seat Allotment Result: The selection committee will allot seats to candidates in the order of merit on the basis of their rank, category and choices filled. The result of seat allotment will be published in the official website. Selection of candidate will be based on GATE score and in case of a tie, students with high percentage of mark upto sixth semester will be given priority. In case enough GATE qualified candidates are not available, seats will be filled with students of Kerala origin on the basis of students marks upto the sixth semester. Students who will be allotted a seat will have to download their seat allotment letter from the official website. Students who are not allotted any seat in first round can modify their options or can go for second round seat allotment with the same choices. Second round seat allotment result will be published in the website of DTE, kerala. 

The selection of candidates will be made in 100% of the seats in government/government aided colleges while only 50% seats in self finance private institute will be filled through DTE merit list. For remaining 50% seats, Colleges will adopt their own measures for admission for which a separate merit list and admission procedure will be followed. 


Step-4 Payment of Seat Acceptance Fees: Students who will be allotted a seat through Kerala M.Tech Counselling 2019 will have to pay the seat acceptance fees within the stipulated time at any branch of State Bank of India. The fees paid by candidate will be transferred to the college for which the seat is allotted. Students who do not get any seat or do not accept the seat and want to take part in second round seat allotment process do not have to pay any fees. Students who will be allotted a seat after the second round will have to deposit the fees after the seat allotment result.


Step-5 Spot Admission: A spot admission round will be organised if seats remain vacant after the final round of Kerala M.Tech Counselling 2019. All the students who are in the merit list will be eligible to take part in spot admission round.The allotment of seats will be made through centralised counselling in the order of merit. Students who have taken admission in any institute during round one or two seat allotment process must produce a “No Objection Certificate” for taking part in spot admission round. 

If seats still remain vacant after spot admission round, respective college can conduct their own admission process for the remaining seats.

  • Students must register and fill the application form for Kerala M.Tech Counselling within the specified date and time

  • Candidate must send a copy of submitted application form along with xerox copies of all the necessary documents by post to the above mentioned address so as to reach before the due date. 

  • All the candidates who would be allotted a seat must download their seat allotment letter and pay the fees at any branch of SBI Bank for confirmation of seats.
