JEE Main 2026 Scribe Registration - The National Testing Agency has started the JEE Main 2026 registration of scribe details on January 8. Candidates have to log in to the candidate portal to register scribe details for JEE Main 2026 on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Note that those with difficulty in writing are eligible to opt for a scribe. Moreover, only those applicants who wish to bring their own scribe must register. JEE Main aspirants are advised to submit details of their chosen scribe using the link given below. Now that the JEE city slip is out, applicants can know which test city and exam date have been allotted to them. The JEE Main 2026 exam will be held on January 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 (BTech) and January 29 (BArch), 2026.

A person with benchmark disability as defined under section 2(r) of the RPwD Act, 2016 are allowed to choose a scribe.
Such candidates must have difficulty in writing the exam. Meaning, they require external assistance during the examination.
A scribe facility is provided to persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected-BA) and cerebral palsy.
The authority may allow the facility of a scribe for other categories of persons with benchmark disabilities on production of a certificate from Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent of a Government health care institution
JEE Main aspirants who are from the PwD category will be provided an extra time of 20 minutes per hour to help with the exam. This makes the overall compensatory time of 1 hour. The total JEE Main exam time 2026 is 4 hours for PwD candidates with benchmark disabilities.
