GATE 2026 exam schedule subject-wise: IIT Guwahati has released the subject-wise GATE 2026 schedule on November 17, 2025. According to the notification, the GATE 2026 exam will be conducted on February 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2026 in two shifts daily. The Forenoon shift will be from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and the Afternoon shift will be from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Candidates can check the GATE 2026 branch wise exam dates on this page. The GATE Computer Science paper will be held in two sessions. CS-1 is on February 08, 2026 (Forenoon), and CS-2 is on February 08, 2026 (Afternoon). The GATE 2026 admit card was issued on January 13, 2026. The authority will conduct the GATE 2026 exam in online mode.
With the release of the GATE 2026 exam date subject-wise, candidates will have a clear idea of the exam timetable, which will help them organise their study schedule around their specific exam date. Yes, you can appear for the GATE Mechanical Engineering (ME) paper even if you have a B.E./B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering , provided you meet the GATE eligibility criteria.
