180 Marks in JEE Mains Percentile 2026: The NTA will release the JEE Main 2026 result in the form of a percentile. It is possible to expect a percentile of 99.97 to 99.68, or a range of approximately 2004 to 3900. Students appearing for the JEE Main will have the opportunity to secure admission to NITs, IITs, and GFTIs, as admissions are based on normalized scores released by the NTA. The analysis of JEE Main 2026 marks vs percentile by shift-wise is very important to students in the admission process. Thus, this analysis can only be a projection of the percentile and rank that the candidates can get in the exam. After the completion of both sessions of the JEE Main 2026 exam, the National Testing Agency will officially publish data showing the correlation between marks and percentiles.

What Should Students Do After Scoring 180 Marks?

When you have 180 marks or below in JEE Mains, you should relax and follow the following actions:

  • Assess your analysis of your weak points on the subjects and topics. This will help you identify areas for improvement.

  • Make ready for the April JEE Mains (April). It may be poor performance in the January session, but you still have a long way to go to achieve good results in the April session of the JEE Mains.

  • There are other engineering entrance exams you can consider if the JEE Main does not seem like a good fit, such as BITSAT, VITEEE, or the State-Level engineering admissions test.

  • Seek Support or Assistance. If needed, obtain further coaching or assistance from tutors to help you improve in your weak subject areas.

  • Stay Positive. Many students who perform poorly on assessments realize that they can succeed by adjusting their approach and leveraging their strengths.

How to Calculate JEE Main Percentile?

The NTA has established a normalisation formula in which JEE Mains is evaluated through this method to provide fairness to candidates by taking into consideration the differences in the level of difficulty between various testing sessions (or shifts).

Step 1: Raw Scores Preparation

  • The raw scores of a candidate can be determined by adding the points awarded for the correct answers in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

UPES B.Tech Admissions 2026

Ranked #43 among Engineering colleges in India by NIRF | Highest Package 1.3 CR , 100% Placements

Step 2: Percentile Scores Calculation

Percentile scores are calculated for total and individual subjects.

  • Total Percentile (T1P): (100/ No. of candidates from session with raw score ≤ T1 score) / Total No. of candidates in session.
