NTA prepares the result based on the percentile-based JEE normalisation process. The process converts the raw scores of students acquired in each shift into NTA percentile across all the subjects. The formula used for the calculation of NTA scores for the JEE result 2026 session 1 is as follows:
Formula = (100 x number of candidates who appeared in the session with a raw score equal to or less than the candidate) / total number of candidates who appeared in that session
Aspirants may note that the normalised NTA score is not the same as that of the percentage of marks obtained in the JEE test. Check the image for the formula.

The JEE Main marking scheme is distributed across the JEE paper. The paper is inclusive of two sections: A: MCQs and B: numerical value questions.
