IISc is a reputed research university located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and was founded in 1909. The faculty strength for a four-year undergraduate program is 482, and the campus size is 440 acres. Ranked as India’s #1 university and #1 research institute in the NIRF Ranking.

Key Changes in IISc Admissions

IISc B.Sc (Research) – Eligibility & Selection Criteria

• Students who completed their class 12th with PCM subjects in the year 2004, 2005 or students who are appearing for class 12th exam in 2006 are eligible to apply for admission in BSc Research at Indian Institute of Science.

• Minimum of 60 per cent marks are required for the general category and passing marks are required for the SC/ST category students.

Selection Procedure B.Sc (Research)

• Admission to B.Sc Research in IISC for Indian category students or Overseas Citizen of India treated as Indian National is based on the JEE Advanced rank or IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) rank.

• Admission to B.Sc Research in IISC for foreign category students or Overseas Citizen of India treated as Foreign National is based on SAT/ACT or IAT/JEE Advanced rank.

IISc B.Sc (Research) – Program Intake

There are a total 125 intake for BSc Research in Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. Out of 125 seats, 100 seats are gender neutral for the Indian/OCI(I) Category, 20 seats are for Indian/ OCI(I) female candidates and 5 seats are allocated for Foreign/OCI(F) candidates.
