GATE 2026 Cutoff Mechanical Engineering: IIT Guwahati will release the GATE Cutoff 2026 for the Mechanical Engineering branch. Candidates can access the GATE 2026 ME cutoff on the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in. As per the latest GATE cutoff for the General category is between 34 and 37, for EWS/OBC from 28 to 32, and for SC/ST/PWD from 22 to 24. The GATE exam cutoff released by conducting IITs is the minimum score required to qualify for the exam and become eligible for counselling. The GATE result 2026 is released on March 19, 2026. Generally, there are two distinct types of GATE 2026 cutoffs: the qualifying cutoff and the admission PSU cutoff. The GATE exam cutoff released by IIT Guwahati is the qualifying marks to be eligible for the counselling rounds. And the GATE ME cutoff released by the GATE participating institute is for GATE ME 2026 admission. The GATE admission cutoff varies across the colleges. Whereas the GATE qualifying cutoff is released only by the conducting body.
Last year, the GATE ME cutoff was 35.8 for the general category, 32.2 for the OBC category, and 23.8 for the SC/ST category.
