Careers360: Tell us about your domain and your work profile. At the professional level, did you pursue the same field you were interested in or you switched?

1. I am Bhumika Sharma a 2022 B.Tech CSE pass currently working as a software developer with Amazon, my domain specifics include designing and developing software applications. My detailed work profile involves coding, testing, and maintaining software systems. Professionally, I pursued the same field I was interested in as I completed my B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering from Graphic Era (Deemed to be University). I have always been passionate about technology and programming. I would rather not switch!

Careers360: Can you briefly tell us about your career path so far?

2. In my career as a software developer with Amazon, I have been fortunate to work on diverse projects and gain valuable experience. After completing my bachelor’s degree in computer science, I started my professional journey as an intern with Amazon during my internship I was involved in developing web applications using various programming languages and frameworks.

Over time, I have honed my skills and taken on more challenging roles. Now as a full-stack developer with Amazon, I work on complex enterprise-level applications with different technologies, architectures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on a continuous basis. In short, my career path as a software developer has been fulfilling and rewarding, allowing me to combine my passion for technology with real-world problem-solving. I look forward to further growth and exciting challenges in the ever-evolving field of software engineering.

Careers360: Is the Industry work different from what you learnt at Graphic Era(Deemed to be University)?

3. The industry work as a software developer can have variations compared to what I learned at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University). While my education provided a substantial theoretical understanding, the practical application of technology in projects often involves additional complexities and considerations. The industry demands continuous learning and adapting to new tools, frameworks, and best practices. I have embraced these changes by seeking professional development opportunities and staying updated with emerging trends. My college education served as a foundation, and I have built upon it to navigate the dynamic landscape of the software development industry.

Careers360: How do you think your time in college has added value to your life, both professional and personal?

4. My time in the Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) has been invaluable in shaping my professional and personal life as a Software Developer. Academically, it provided me with a strong foundation in computer science concepts, algorithms, and programming languages. The exposure to various technologies and practical projects honed my technical skills. Moreover, the college fostered critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration through group projects and discussions. Personally, the university helped me develop time management, discipline, and resilience. Interacting with diverse peers and participating in extracurricular activities enhanced my communication and leadership abilities. Looking at the larger picture, I can say that Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) equipped me with the necessary knowledge, skills, and qualities to excel in my career and navigate life's challenges with confidence.

Careers360: What was your initial thought process when you joined Graphic Era (Deemed to be University)?

5. As a student joining the Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), my initial thought process was a mix of excitement and curiosity. I was thrilled to embark on a new chapter of my education journey, eager to explore the world of programming and software development. I expected Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) to provide me with a supportive and challenging environment, enabling me to expand my technical skills and knowledge. I was also eager to connect with fellow students who shared my passion for technology and collaboration. All in all, I saw joining the university as my chance to geek out, build a solid foundation for my future career, and make some awesome friends along the way.

6. Oh, absolutely! My time at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) as a student and a budding Software Developer was a blast, and I miss being a part of it. One of the standout memories was the late-night coding sessions with my classmates, fueled by coffee and snacks. The camaraderie and collective problem-solving were fantastic. I also fondly recall the exhilaration of participating in hackathons, where we raced against the clock to build innovative projects. The supportive professors and their passion for teaching left a lasting impact on me. Moreover, the college events and tech conferences were a goldmine of inspiration and networking opportunities. But what I miss the most is the sense of community—the friends I made, the collaborative projects, and the shared excitement for technology. Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) was an integral part of my journey, and the memories I created there will always hold a special place in my heart.

Careers360: Briefly take us through your life at the campus, the activities you used to do and your routine life.

7. A typical day at my institute kicked off with a series of engaging classes. In between the lectures, I seized opportunity to engage with our professors, seeking their guidance and clearing any doubts. I must say, our professors were incredibly supportive and motivating, always willing to assist us with our research and academic pursuits. During the well-deserved hour-long break, we rejuvenated over quick bites with friends at the vibrant in-campus café, fostering both relaxation and lively discussions. The afternoons were often dedicated to lab work or group projects, where we collaborated and applied our theoretical knowledge. In the evenings, we engaged in club activities, attend seminars, or engaged in recreational activities. The evenings concluded with shared laughter and camaraderie over dinner in the hostel mess.

Careers360:Apart from academics, what were the other activities you were involved in and how did it enrich your life?

8. The University organizes a multitude of activities. Ranging from Hackathons, workshops, and industrial visits to debates, webinars and cultural events. Kavyanjali - The Literary Club, Alankrit - The Cultural Society, Papertech - The Art and Craft Club and Society of Petroleum Engineers are among the many unique active clubs in the university that organize events and activities frequently.

Careers360: How did you keep updated with the industrial requirements and what was the role of the institute in it?

9. Keeping up with industrial requirements was crucial for me as a Software Developer during my college days, and Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) played a significant role in facilitating that. The university had a proactive approach to aligning the curriculum with the latest industry trends. They regularly updated the course content to incorporate emerging technologies, programming languages, and development frameworks. That ensured we were equipped with relevant skills upon graduation.

Graphic Era also encouraged industry interactions through guest lectures, workshops, and seminars conducted by professionals from renowned companies. These sessions provided valuable insights into real-world projects, industry best practices, and upcoming technologies. Additionally, the university facilitated internships and industrial training programs, allowing us to gain hands-on experience and understand the practical aspects of software development.

It fostered a culture of continuous learning by encouraging students to participate in coding competitions, hackathons, and technical events both within the campus and on external platforms. These opportunities not only enhanced our technical skills but also exposed us to the competitive nature of the industry.

The university’s efforts ensured that I was well-prepared to meet the demands of the software Developing field upon graduation.

11. As a Software Developer and a former student of Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), my suggestion to B.Tech Computer Science aspirants is to embrace a balanced approach to their education. Engage in internships, participate in coding competitions, and take advantage of industry collaborations offered by the university. Networking with professionals and attending guest lectures can provide valuable insights into the real-world applications of computer science. The Upes university has the very higher fees for every aspect of fees for the university and has no such reputation in respect of education campus enviornment ,and placement .on the other hand the Graphic EERA university has the all requirements for education ,Feculties,campus enviornment,and overall  good placement record.In Graphic ERA university more tha 78%==student got placed in previous years and have the average salary of 4.8 lacs of rupees per annum and the highest salary is 7.8lacs of rupees per annum .But the UPES has no such record of placement inthe previous years. So the decision is yours.

Graphic Era University is a private Deemed to be University which is a NAAC accredited and UGC approved university. Students from all over India, takes admission to this university in various courses. So if you wish to go for the university, you can go for it without any doubt. There is no problem if you go from South Indian states. It will take some time but you will be able to get accommodated with it.

Yes, Graphic Era University (GEU) Dehradun does offer BSc Medical Radio Imaging Technology Course. The Department of Pharmaceutical Studies, GEU offers excellent clinical practice for aspiring radio-imaging technologists with state-of-the-art facilities like digital radiography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging.

Yes you can get admission into CSE Branch Btech at Graphic Era University with 70 percent marks in your boards. All you have to do is just visit their website and apply for your desired programme and the university will release merit list based on your board examination percentage and you JEE mains score. There are more than 2 lists they release for admission and if you get into merit list then wou will get admission there.
