As per the GATE Statistics paper pattern 2026, there will be two sections in the GATE Statistics question paper namely, General Aptitude and Statistics. The General Aptitude section of the paper will hold 15 marks for 10 questions while the Statistics part will hold 85 marks for 55 questions. Marking Scheme | For a wrong answer chosen in an MCQ, there will be a negative marking as follows: For 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. For the 2-mark MCQ, the 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. There will be no negative marking for MSQs & NATs. |
