If candidates want to secure admission in top IITs like IIT Bombay IIT Madras, then they have to get a GATE score between 750 to 800. Mq refers to the qualifying marks of GATE papers.
Mt means the average raw marks of the top GATE candidates.
Sq refers to Qualifying Marks
St refers to the top marks score
The authority releases both the GATE score and marks separately. However, GATE score and GATE marks are both completely different. GATE score is scaled from 1 to 1000, while GATE marks are out of 100. The GATE exam pattern consists of 65 questions for 100 marks with a specific marking scheme along with negative marking. The raw marks are also the GATE marks.
