Careers360: Introduce yourself and tell us why REVA University was your choice for higher education.

Sanjana Ramesh: Hi, I am Sanjana Ramesh. I completed my B. Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science from REVA University and am currently pursuing my MSc in Advanced Engineering Management at the University of Birmingham. Honestly, when I was choosing a university, I wanted a place where I could grow beyond academics. REVA stood out because it gave equal importance to learning, leadership, innovation, and student life. Looking back, choosing REVA was one of the best decisions I have made because it shaped me into the person I am today.

Careers360: How effectively did the curriculum help you develop industry-relevant skills alongside academic knowledge?

Sanjana Ramesh: One thing I really appreciated about REVA was that learning wasn't limited to classrooms. We were constantly encouraged to work on projects, research, internships, and practical applications. Those experiences helped me understand how concepts work in the real world. By the time I graduated, I felt much more confident stepping into the next phase because I had already worked on solving real problems instead of just studying theory.

Careers360: What has your campus life at REVA University been like, and which experience influenced you the most?

Sanjana Ramesh: If I had to describe my campus life in one word, it would be transformative. Some of my best memories were never inside a classroom; they were while organising events, interacting with students, and leading teams.

Being elected as the President of the REVA Student Council was probably the most defining experience of my college life. Representing thousands of students taught me responsibility, empathy, decision-making, and how to lead people with different perspectives. It pushed me out of my comfort zone every single day, and I am grateful for that experience.

Careers360: How would you rate your interactions with faculty in terms of guidance and support on a scale of 1-5?

Sanjana Ramesh: Definitely a 5 out of 5. Whenever I had doubts, whether it was related to academics, research, competitions, or even career decisions, my faculty members were always approachable. They believed in me, encouraged me to take up bigger responsibilities, and celebrated every milestone along the way. That kind of support makes a huge difference for any student.

Careers360: How valuable were case studies, projects, and internships in enriching your learning journey at REVA University?

Sanjana Ramesh: They made all the difference. Projects taught me how to think, internships taught me how to work, and research taught me how to question. Every experience added something new to my learning journey. Instead of just learning concepts for exams, I learned how to apply them, communicate my ideas, and work with teams. Those experiences gave me confidence that I carry even today.

Careers360: Did you have opportunities to connect or interact with alumni while pursuing your studies?

Sanjana Ramesh: Yes, and I think those interactions were really motivating. Listening to alumni share their journeys made many of us realise what was possible after graduation. It also helped bridge the gap between campus life and professional life, giving us practical insights that you don't always find in textbooks.

Careers360: Have you been involved in mentoring before, and are you open to supporting REVA University students moving forward?

Sanjana Ramesh: Yes, definitely. During my time as a student leader, many juniors would reach out to me for guidance on academics, leadership opportunities, events, and balancing college life. I have also had the opportunity to participate in several alumni talks, where I shared my journey and experiences with students. Those interactions have been incredibly fulfilling because I could see how even a simple conversation could inspire someone. Going forward, I would love to continue mentoring REVA students and give back to the university that has given me so much.

Careers360: How much of your current professional success would you credit to REVA University?

Sanjana Ramesh: A huge part of my journey is because of REVA University. The university gave me opportunities that helped me build confidence, leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the courage to dream bigger. Today, I have taken the next step at the University of Birmingham for my Master's, and I am excited to create an impact there as well. I truly believe the foundation REVA gave me has prepared me to thrive on a global stage. Wherever I go next, I will always carry the values and experiences I gained at REVA with me.

Careers360: Reflecting on your academic journey, would you do anything differently at REVA University?

Sanjana Ramesh: Yes, I think I would. Looking back, I would approach some of my academic projects from a different perspective. I would involve stakeholders much earlier in the process to better understand real-world requirements and build solutions that are even more practical and impactful. That said, every project taught me something valuable, and those learnings have shaped the way I approach problems today.

Careers360: Do you have any message or advice for students thinking about joining REVA University?

Sanjana Ramesh: Don't come to REVA just to earn a degree - come here to build yourself. Say yes to opportunities, even when they seem intimidating. Join clubs, participate in competitions, take up leadership roles, build projects, make mistakes, and learn from them. Four years go by much faster than you think. The memories you'll cherish the most won't just be your grades; they'll be the people you meet, the challenges you overcome, and the person you become by the end of your journey. REVA gave me memories, friendships, mentors, confidence, and opportunities that I will always be grateful for. I hope every student who joins experiences the same.
