Candidates who qualify in GATE 2019 will be eligible for the Power Grid recruitment through GATE 2019. Eligibility Criteria for Power Grid Recruitment through GATE 2019
Power Grid has stipulated the eligibility parameters for applicants who are interested in applying for the PGCIL Recruitment through GATE 2019. The details have been listed below for the benefit of all applicants.
PGCIL Recruitment Eligibility Criteria
The candidates should be of Indian nationality.
Age Limit as on December 31, 2018
The age limit for General category candidates is 28 years
For OBC candidates, the age limit is 31 years.
The age limit for SC/ST Candidates is 33 years.
PwD candidates -38 years old.
Eligible Streams for Recruitment
Electrical – Electrical/ Electrical (Power)/ Electrical and Electronics/ Power Systems Engineering/ Power Engineering (Electrical).
Electronics – Electronics/ Electronics and Communications/ Electronics and Telecommunication/Electronics & Electrical Communication / Telecommunication Engg
Civil – Civil Engineering
The candidates should have qualified B.E./ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engineering) from a recognized University/Institute.
Final year students
Final year/semester candidates who will be expecting their results by August 14, 2019 are eligible to apply for the recruitment process. However, these candidates should have a minimum of 65% marks of equivalent CGPA in aggregate in all semesters/years up to pre-final examination.
General and OBC (NCL) candidates should have secured minimum 65% marks of equivalent CGPA in the qualifying degree examination.
SC/ ST/ PwD candidates are required to secure at least the passing marks to be eligible for the recruitment process.
The candidates will have to qualify GATE 2019 to be eligible for the post. The previous GATE scores will not be considered eligible for evaluation.

Steps to Apply for Power Grid Recruitment through GATE 2019
It is important to note that the candidates should have successfully registered for GATE 2019 exam before filling the online application form for the PGCIL recruitment through GATE. The registration number that is mentioned in the GATE 2019 admit card was required for the application process. Registrations for Power Grid Recruitment through GATE 2019 has ended.
Step 1 – Registration and Filling of PGCIL Application Form
The candidates had to register by filling in their personal and academic details along with the GATE 2019 registration number.
All information provided should have matched with the details submitted in the GATE 2019 application form.
Certain documents also had to be uploaded by the candidates as per the required specifications.
A unique registration number was generated after the submission of the application form for PGCIL recruitment through GATE 2019. The registration number acted as the password for further login to the account of the candidate.
The candidates were able to download their filled application form. An email was also sent to their registered email ID.

Step 2 – Payment of Application Fees
The candidates wee able to pay the application fees via Online mode (credit card/ debit card/ net banking/ e-wallet). The candidates had to pay Rs. 500 as the application fees. Departmental candidates/ SC/ ST/ PwD/ Ex-SM candidates were exempted from payment of application fees.
Online Mode of Payment (Through Payment Gateway)
The candidates had to log into their account from where they were directed to the payment gateway.
Selection of online method of payment could be done by the candidates. They could choose to pay with either credit card, debit card, net banking or available e-Wallet.
The transaction ID was generated after the payment was confirmed and the candidates had to save all of these details.
In case the transaction status shows failed but the amount was deducted, then the candidates were requested to wait for 2 hours to check update on payment status.
If there was no change in the payment status, then the candidates had to email the authorities quoting the Power Grid registration number.
Selection Process for Power Grid Recruitment through GATE 2019
On the basis of GATE 2019 scores, the registered candidates will be shortlisted. The result of GATE 2019 will be announced on March 16, 2019. The further selection process for PGCIL recruitment through GATE 2019 will consist of:
The candidates will be required to carry their original GATE 2019 admit card and GATE 2019 score card while reporting for the interview. An original photo ID also has to be carried to the group discussion and interview.

Details regarding Pay and Probation of Power Grid Recruitment through GATE 2019
The selected candidates will have to undergo one year of training and will be paid a pay scale of Rs. 60,000 – Rs. 1,80,000. After successfully completing the one year of training, the candidates will be retained as engineers. CTC and other emoluments may vary based on the place of posting as well as the terms of appointment. The approximate CTC will include Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, Perquisites and Allowance as per the cafeteria approach, Performance Related Pay, Company Leased Accommodation/ Company Quarters or HRA, Reimbursement of monthly conveyance expenditure, mobile facility and more. The CTC will be per annum.
Information about Service Agreement
The selected candidates will have to execute a service agreement bond to successfully complete their one year training period and to serve the organization for a minimum of 3 years. A service bond for Rs. 5,00,000 has to be executed by the General category candidates while the SC/ST candidates will have to execute a bond of Rs. 2,50,000.
