The authority has released the information on how the fee must be paid. Based on the GATE 2027 information brochure, the application fee can be paid using the following modes.

• Debit card

• Credit card

• E-wallet,

How to do GATE 2027 Registration?

The entire process is online. Candidates can check the steps to fill out the GATE application form 2027 below.

• Aspirants must either create an account in DigiLocker. Else they have to update the already existing DigiLocker account.

• Visit the official GATE site, gate2027.iitm.ac.in.

• They have to click on the new registration link.

• Enter the basic details and register using a mobile number and email ID.

• Now, candidates can log in to the GATE application portal using the enrollment ID and password.

• Provide general personal, academic, and contact details.

• Students have to enter some other details for the GATE exam, such as choice of examination cities, paper selection and two paper combinations, etc.

• Click Live photo and upload a recent photo and signature as well.

• Applicants will be required to upload other documents specified by the concerned authorities.

Documents Required for GATE Registration 2027

Note that all the documents should be uploaded as per the specifications. Here are the documents required for GATE registration.

• Recently taken photo (candidates must check the specifications)

• Signature (candidates must check the specifications)

• Valid photo identity document (ID)

• Category (SC/ST) certificate in PDF format (if applicable)

• UDID (preferred)/PwD Certificate in PDF format (if applicable)

• Dyslexic Certificate PDF in format (if applicable)

• Relevant Annexure(s) in PDF format (if applicable)

• Certificate required for Compensatory time and Scribe (if applicable)

GATE Application Fee Payment Issue

If you're unable to access the portal at the moment, log back in to the GATE 2027 Application Portal once you're able to, and check your payment status. If GATE has received the payment, you can proceed to print your application form. If the payment has not been received by GATE 2027, you may need to make a fresh payment. In case an amount has been debited from your bank account but you haven't received any acknowledgement of the fee payment from GATE 2027, the amount will be credited back to your account. However, this may take about fifteen working days.

No, the GATE 2027 registration fee is not free for females — for one paper it's Rs 1,000 and for two papers Rs 2,000 during the regular period, and Rs 1,500 for one paper and Rs 2,500 for two papers during the extended period.
