Q. What are the eligibility criteria to apply for SRMJEEE?
Ans- To apply for SRMJEEE 2018, candidates have to fulfill various criteria related to age, nationality, academic and mark requirements that have been specified under the eligibility criteria by the admission authority. There are separate parameters of eligibility, specified by the SRM University for its various campuses. There is a different academic requirement for Biomedical engineering and Genetic engineering as compared to the rest of the B.Tech programmes offered by the University. Before applying for the entrance exam, candidates are suggested to read SRMJEEE 2018 eligibility criteria carefully.
Q. What is the age limit for SRMJEEE?
Ans- Candidate must have completed the age of 17 years as on December 31, of the admission year.
Q. How many attempts can I make for SRMJEEE?
Ans- Last year SRM University has given candidates a second chance to attempt for the entrance exam in May. However, university has not yet notified about the same for the coming year. If there will be vacant seats, the university may allow a second chance for the candidates.
Q. I am a diploma student. Can I appy for SRMJEEE?
Ans- Diploma candidates cannot apply for the entrance exam.
Q. How much should I have in Class 12 to apply for SRMJEEE?
Ans- SRM University has specified eligibility criteria for its different campuses. For Kattankulathur campus, the candidate must get minimum 60% aggregate in PCM in class 12. For Ramapuram, Vadapalani and NCR, Delhi campus, candidates must have a minimum of 50% aggregate in PCM in class 12.
Q. I have taken a drop. Can I apply for SRMJEEE?
Ans- Yes, you will be able to apply for SRMJEEE if you meet the year of the qualifying examination criteria. The candidates should be completing their 12th standard on the year of admission or the year before that.
Q. If I have a gap after class 10, can I apply for SRMJEEE?
Ans- Yes, you will be able to apply for SRMJEEE. The eligibility criteria state that the necessary criterion for admissions is the qualification status of class 12 examination.
Q. I have failed in Class 12 and appeared for the exam again. Can I apply for SRMJEEE?
Ans- Yes. However, if a candidate has taken more than one attempt in class 12 or its equivalent, then only the latest performance will be taken into consideration.
Q. If I am Biology student but I have studied Physics & Chemistry, can I apply for SRMJEEE? Which courses will I be eligible for?
Ans- Yes, you are eligible for SRMJEEE. However, you can apply for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering programmes.
Q. If there any eligibility relaxation in SRMJEE and for whom?
Ans- There is no relaxation criteria.
Q. What are different reservation categories for admission through SRMJEEE?
Ans-There is no reservation of seats in SRMJEEE. All admissions are done based on the merit of the candidates.
Q. Is there an NRI quota for SRMJEEE?
Ans-Foreign nationals, PIO card holders, OCI (Dual citizens), NRI students, and NRI sponsored students can apply under the category of International students. 15% of the seats at SRM University are reserved under this category.
