Punjab B.Tech Counselling 2017 - The two rounds of Punjab B.Tech Counselling 2017 has ended. The second round seat allotment for JEE Main qualified & class XII candidates was announced on June 20, 2017. I K Gujral, Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar announced the seat allotment for the JEE Main 2017 applicants for the Punjab B.Tech 2017 counselling round 1 on June 8, 2017. Punjab B.Tech counselling 2017 consisted of the candidates registering themselves, locking their choices of programmes and reporting at the allotted institute after the declaration of the result. Seats were allotted to the candidates depending on the availability in the participating institutes. Candidates were advised that they carry with them the requisite documents for verification at the time of Punjab B.Tech 2017 counselling. Step 1- Payment of counselling fees
In order to participate in the centralised counselling of Punjab B.Tech 2017, candidates are required to deposit a non- refundable fees of Rs 2, 000. Candidates will have to log onto the requisite portal, fill the necessary information and select from the designated banks where they wish to deposit their fees. Shortlisted candidates will have to take allotment letter of college / Branch by logging into his/her account from the website a printout of the E-deposit slip and pay the fees and the bank of their choice. Step 2- Online Registration for counselling
In order to register for counselling of Punjab B.Tech, candidates will have to mention the below given details:

Name (as given in JEE Main Examination)
Date of Birth (as given in JEE Main Examination)

Apart from the above-mentioned details, candidates must mention other personal, academic details as well as other information related to category, nationality, gender, family income, contact information such as the mobile number, email address
Before clicking on the “submit” button candidates must check all the information which they have furnished.
Step 3- Choice Filling -
On completion of the registration, candidates will still have the option to edit the information provided by them in case they have not frozen it. Candidates are required to fill the choice of the programme and college. They must print the choice of programme for future reference. Seats will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of the choice made by them and availability of seats.

Step 4- Announcement of Result
The result for the first round was announced. Candidates who had been shortlisted for admission were informed through an SMS. They had to take a printout of the provisional allotment letter of college / Branch by logging into their details.

Step 5- Reporting at the Allotted Institute
Candidates were required to report at the allotted institute within the stipulated time along with the certificates, documents and testimonials that are mentioned in the information brochure. They also had to pay the college fees. Failure of the candidates to report at the allotted institute during the stipulated time would result in the cancellation of their seat
Second Round of Punjab B.Tech 2017 Counselling
Candidates who fell under 85% Punjab quota and 15% Other States quota, if they had failed to attend the first round of counselling, then they could attend the second round of centralised counselling.
All the candidates who participated in the second round of counselling of BITS HD 2017 were required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 2, 000 in case they had not paid it earlier.
Note- After two rounds of centralised counselling of Punjab B.Tech 2017, there were direct admissions at the university level with an aim to fill the empty seats.

Seat Allotment of Punjab B.Tech 2017
Once the candidates had filled their choice of programme and college, they were allotted seats on the basis of the rank, category of the candidate and availability of seats at various participating institutes.
Candidates were required to carry with them the provisional seat allotment letter and report at the institute for the completion of the admission formalities.
Documents of the candidates were verified at the allotted institute
Failure of the candidate to report at the allotted institute would result in the cancellation of his seat.
