Candidates will be required to meet the eligibility criteria specified by the authorities for NMDC recruitment through GATE 2026. While all candidates will be required to have a valid GATE 2026 score, there will be other requirements from NMDC for recruitment. The detailed eligibility criteria will be released soon by the authorities.
Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology. Final year/Semester students are also eligible to apply, subject to the production of the final pass certificate of eligible qualification at the time of Group Discussion (GD) & Interview, otherwise, their candidature will not be entertained. A candidate with the prescribed degree identified for the disciplines as given below can only apply for the post of Executive Trainee in the respective disciplines.
All qualifications must be from UGC recognized Indian University/UGC-recognized Indian Deemed University or AICTE-approved courses from Autonomous Indian Institutions/concerned statutory council (wherever applicable)
Candidates having 05 years of B.E/B Tech + ME/M Tech integrated dual degree in Engineering in relevant disciplines shall also be considered.
The minimum percentage of marks in the above Degrees shall be 60% of marks in aggregate for the Un-Reserved (UR) and OBC(NCL) categories.
For Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwD category, the minimum percentage of marks in their respective Degrees shall be 50%.
For Departmental candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwD category, the minimum percentage of marks in their respective Degrees shall be 45%.
For Departmental candidates belonging to the Unreserved category and OBC, the minimum percentage of marks in their respective Degrees shall be 55%.
Candidates who are currently in the final year of their Engineering Degree (or dual degree) and belonging to the UR/OBC(NCL)/EWS category must have secured a minimum of 60% marks and the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWBD must have secured minimum 50% marks in aggregate up to the last semester/year at the time of application.
Age Limit - Upper Age limit is 27 years as of the last date of the online application. The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and as per Govt. of India Guidelines for PwDs/Ex. Servicemen on the maximum age of 27 years. For Departmental candidates (NMDC) age relaxation will be given up to 10 years.

The registration process for NMDC recruitment through GATE 2026 will be available in online mode. Candidates have to use their GATE 2026 registration number to fill out a form for NMDC recruitment 2026. While filling out the application form, the candidates had to submit their personal, educational and academic details. Information about GATE such as registration number and others also had to be provided. An amount of Rs. 500 (Rupees Five Hundred only) has to be paid by all the candidates as a non-refundable application fee.
Candidates will be shortlisted based on their secured GATE 2026 scores. Interview or selection tests may be conducted by the authorities for the selection of candidates.

The candidates who will be called for GD & Interview are required to produce original documents/testimonials, along with self-attested photocopies, in support of Age, Qualification, GATE Score Card, Caste(SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD/Ex-servicemen) certificates, GATE Admit Card, NMDC Application form etc. for verification of their eligibility as per notification at the time of GD & Interview. In case the candidate(s) do not produce/submit the required documents before attending for Group Discussion & Interview, the candidate(s) will not be permitted to attend GD & Interview and the Travelling Allowance will not be reimbursed. The decision of NMDC Management is final in this regard.
