JEE Main 2018 Topper Interview: Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan - From national to state level entrance exams, Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan has claimed many accolades to his name. JEE Main 2018, (AIR 10), JEE Advanced, (AIR 11), AP EAMCET 2018, (AIR 4) and TS EAMCET, (AIR 3), yes, it's true and it won't be wrong in any way to call him a wonder boy. Vinayaka managed to prove his mettle in all the aforementioned entrance exams. He plans to study Computer Science engineering as coding interests him the most. Passive and calm in nature, Vinayak suggests to stay cool in life and not let pressure build around. The reticent boy from Telangana shares his JEE Main, boards and other exams preparation journey in an exclusive conversation with Careers360 in which he tells the hurdles he crossed, role of his family in his preparation and much more. Careers360: Congratulations for your outstanding performance in JEE Main, AP EAMCET and TS EAMCET 2018! What was your reaction upon knowing your ranks?

Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: Thank you so much. I was overjoyed on knowing my marks.
Careers360: Tell us something about yourself. Which board have you studied under? Which school have you studied in?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: I have studied under SSC till class X. I have completed my class XI & XII from IPE, Telangana.
Careers360: What is your score in JEE Main, AP EAMCET and TS EAMCET 2018? What is your all India rank and category rank?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: I have secured 341 marks in JEE Main 2018, 146 marks in AP EAMCET and 149 marks in TS EAMCET. My JEE Main AIR is 10 and OBC rank is 2. In AP EAMCET, my rank is 4 and in TS EAMCET, it is 3.
Careers360: Did you appear for the offline JEE Main exam or the online one? What is the reason behind this choice of yours?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: I appeared in JEE Main entrance exam in offline mode because I practised questions in that mode only. There is an ease in navigating the questions in offline mode in comparison to online mode, hence, was more convenient for me.
Careers360: Why do you want to study engineering? When did you decide to study engineering? Which branch would you be interested in? Any reason?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: I am interested in Computer Science Engineering as I like coding and development.
Careers360: When did you start your JEE Main and other entrance exam preparation? Tell us something about your preparation strategy and daily routine for JEE Main or other exams?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: I started my JEE Main preparation in class XI. I studied for twelve hours a day.
Careers360: What difference did you find in AP EAMCET, TS EAMCET and JEE Main exam? Which one was difficult for you and which was easier and why?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: I found all of them easy. The only difference in all of them is time management. According to me, time management is difficult in AP EAMCET in comparison to TS EAMCET and TS EAMCET is relatively difficult in terms of time management when compared to JEE Main.
Careers360: Was there a difference in the preparation strategy in the last months of JEE Main considering that the board exams also are during this period? How did you manage preparation for both?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: I prepared for class XII boards first and then JEE Main. I did not prepare for both parallely.
Careers360: Did you take coaching for JEE Main and if yes from where? What are the benefits of coaching according to you?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: Yes, I have taken coaching from Sri Chaitanya Narayana Educational Society. The faculty there have got a lot of experience and that really helped me a lot.
Careers360: Mock tests and sample papers – how extensively did you practise with the help of these? Do you think practising from the previous year papers help and how?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: I used to solve 1 paper every week and for the last 15 days, I practised two papers each day.
Careers360: Are there any special books that you feel have helped with your JEE Main preparation? Are the school text books adequate for preparing for JEE Main and Class XII?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: No, I did not refer to any special books. The coaching material was enough to study along with the text books.
Careers360: Did you face any problem during JEE Main, AP EAMCET and TS EAMCET examination? Which subject was the easiest and which was the toughest in all 3 exams? What do you think is a tough thing to manage during these exams?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: No. I did not face any problems in any of the exams. Mathematics was the easiest in all the three exams. 'Time' was certainly the toughest thing to manage in these exams.
Careers360: What do you think are the key factors behind your stupendous success in these exams?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: I owe my success to my family who stood by me during the preparation days.
Careers360: How did you de-stress yourself during the preparation? What are your hobbies? How often could you pursue them?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: I used to play table tennis during preparation to de-stress myself.
Careers360: Who is your ideal or biggest inspiration in life and why?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: My parents are my biggest inspiration.
Careers360: You know you are an inspiration to thousands of students across the country. Do you have any message for future aspirants on tackling the JEE Main exam?
Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan: My suggestion to all the candidates is to keep their cool and follow what parents and teachers guide you to.
