Admission to IIT Guwahati BSc (Hons) in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence programme is made after meeting the eligibility criteria.

Academic Qualification Requirement

• Candidates must have passed the Class 12 examination or equivalent with a minimum score of 60% from a recognised board.

Admission Without JEE

• Candidates can enrol into the IIT Guwahati online course after meeting the eligibility criteria and qualifying for an online qualifier test.

• To help applicants prepare for this IIT Guwahati test, the institute has designed a preparatory online course, Mathematics Essentials.

• Applicants will be ranked based on a composite score, which includes Class 10th and 12th marks, and the qualifier test. Admissions will be offered accordingly.

• Applicants will be notified of their rank within 72 hours of taking the qualifier test.

JEE-based Entry: Candidates can get direct admission if they are eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) and have registered for it (in any year). Applicants will receive an admission offer after review of their application.

Instructions for Qualifier Test for Non-JEE Track Applicants

Applicants will receive an invitation email to enrol in the Mathematics Preparatory Course from Coursera.

• The qualifier test will be in online mode for two hours

• There will be 80 questions

• 1 mark for correct answer, 0 for wrong, and 0 for not attempting

• The qualifier test will be proctored via Honorlock.

• Proctored exams take place on the Coursera platform and use Honorlock’s Chrome extension.

On the exam day, applicants have to verify their identity and complete the room scan process, after which they will be able to begin their exam.

Exam Day Checklist:

• Candidates must double-check that the Qualifier Test period is live.

• Find a quiet and distraction free place to take the exam.

• Candidates must keep their government-issued photo identity document (ID) ready. The applicants’ name ID should match with the name on the application.

• Acceptable identity documents include: Passport, Driver's License, Voter ID (for India), any other government-issued photo identity document

• Candidates must make sure that the Honorlock Chrome Extension is installed and enabled in Chrome.

• They should check that their system is ready by running the Honorlock System Check

• If candidates are having trouble starting the test, check that Chrome has the right permissions.

• Begin your test.

What After Offer of Admission?

• Once the candidates receive an offer of admission, they will have to pay the admission fee of Rs 50,000 to secure admission.

• After verifying the transaction, IIT Guwahati will create the student ID, and official email address.

• After that, candidates will then register for Trimester 1 credits and pay the required fee accordingly.

Documents required after Offer of Admission

• Copy of your Passport, or, any other acceptable, government-issued ID (e.g. Voter ID, and Driver’s License)

• For International Applicants: An Equivalence Certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities, which recognises their senior secondary or high school education as equivalent to Class 12 certificate issued from a recognised central or state board in India.
