IISER Pune: Institutional Profile

IISER Pune is a government institute established in 2006 and offers a five-year BSMS dual-degree program focusing on research, particularly in science (Integrated Bachelor & Master of Science). This institute has a campus size of 98 acres and a faculty strength of 155 members. Total intake of students for a five-year UG program is 1232, of which 72.4 per cent are boys and 27.6 per cent are girls. 74.9 per cent of the students are from outside Maharashtra, 24.4 per cent are from within Maharashtra, and nine students are from outside India.

IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026

IAT 2026 is an online MCQ test of three hours. The total number of questions will be 60 (15 questions from each subject), including Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Four marks will be awarded for each right answer, and there will be one negative mark for each wrong answer.

A total of 82,000 candidates registered for the IISER IAT 2025 exam, and only 78,000 candidates actually appeared in the exam for 2363 total seats.
